Tango Causing Battery Drain? [CONFIRMED]

My Battery has been suffering since I got my TB. Even just setting it down and not touching it for half hour, it would go down about 5-8%

Just about an hour ago I went thru my list of installed apps and something made me un-install Tango (One of the first apps I installed).

I starting thinking that maybe Tango is keeping my Network ACTIVE in case someone is trying to contact me? I noticed my 4G Up/Down arrows would light up constantly every few seconds so I knew something kept trying to "Reach out"

Once I uninstalled I rebooted and let my phone sit for half hour. Lo and behold the battery hasn't gone down at all.

Still testing my theory, but if you are someone with battery Drain, and have tango installed then give it a shot!

UPDATE:

Ok, many hours later and I love my Thunderbolt again. Battery drain is stable and is draining normally once again. To everyone running Tango and having any sort of issues (Especially Battery) consider un-installing as part of your troubleshooting.

If you have a not so good signal in certain places wouldn't that drain battery as well? I am askin because my Thunderbolt went from 74% to 70% and I have done nothing with it yet.

To answer your question, yes. If the phone is having to work harder to find a signal and hold it, it will use your battery more.

As for Tango, I have it on mine, but haven't noticed anything abnormal. I have, however, noticed that when i DO run apps like Skype, Yahoo Messenger, anything that is "holding" an active data session, it will drop faster, which is to be expected. As to how FAST it's supposed to drain my battery...I have no idea. I know it takes a good hour or more off my "normal" battery life per day when I run those.

what other apps drains the battery, I do not use Tango or Skype :(

Same here, heh... My usage is pretty tame. I use the Internet browser for about 1-2 hours a day, I check my e-mail through the Yahoo! Mail app every 3-4 hours, I check Facebook via the app multiple times per day, I use Google Voice for free texting, and I check the Android and Amazon market apps to see if any of my apps need updating.

Yet, my battery life seems pretty sporadic (I have the 2750 mAH extended battery, for what it's worth). Some days, I only lose about 10-15 percent, some days I lose 20-25. Heck, I charged my phone this morning, then had it on for about 6-7 hours while at work tonight, and the battery was still reading "100%" when I turned my phone off for the night. o_O Though, to be fair, I kinda "bump charged" my phone, this morning, so that might've helped a bit. *shrug*
