Let's talk cases for the HTC EVO 3D.

This is going to sound silly... does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect our Evo3D's before we get cases? I wont be able to purchase a case until Monday. I was thinking about keeping it in a tube-sock when I'm not using it until Monday. :p

A tube sock, huh?

Heh...honestly, just get a screen protector. I've been using my DX naked, save for the screen protector, for 3 months now. I doubt HTC has worse build quality than Moto, so your phone will be fine without a case for a few days.

I want a kickstand but I don't normally put cases on my phones. I usually have a pouch. So we'll see. Plus, I always get the invisibleSHIELD screen protector too.
Have you tried PhantomSkinz?

IMHO they're the best. I have used InvisibleShield / Zagg, BSE, etc etc., nothing is as good as PhantomSkinz - form, fit, finish, lack of orange peel. The screen feels naked even with the PhantomSkinz protector on it.

PhantomSkinz interferes the least with the smooth touchscreens, visually and physically. A 3D phone should have the smoothest / best screen protector, imho.

I'd advise going to a Fry's Electronics and or a mobile kiosk at the mall, and see if any generic large leather cases will fit.

Such is the pitfall of being an early adopter - not being able to get accessories right away.

Just this time. Every other phone I have had (and I get them all early, or on release date at the latest) has went to zagg and got an invisible shield the second I got it. They don't have the shields for the Evo 3D yet for some reason, but that is the first time it has ever happened to me.

I will use my 4G until my case and screen protector arrive for the 3D. Kind of a waste buying a screen protector and case from the Sprint store knowing I'm going to buy a screen protector from Boxwave and an Active Case and holster from Seidio.

EDIT: I removed my original post saying the Clarvue (sp?) screen guards were junk. The problem I had was the 2nd sheet you need to remove from the protector never was removed. So there was a thin layer of film left on it after I applied so it would scuff and scratch easy.

After removing that film, the screen guard was exactly like the casememate brand I've used on past phones. Very clear and you can't tell it is there. Does a good job eliminating finger prints too.

Highly recommended.

Just remember that when you peel the #2 sticker off, it doesn't always take the film with it. So make sure you remove film from the back, apply the protector, and then remove the 2nd film on the front.

How do you like it? How much protection do you think it'll really provide (against just scratches and such, or impact at all?) I've been thinking about getting something small and light for when I'm out and about, working out, that kind of thing, and this looks nice, but not sure if it's going to provide much additional protection. Having a hands on, maybe you're in a bit better position to speculate?

I ordered Clarivue and already haven for the 3D had them for my EVO. Is Steinheil better? Those were the other ones I wanted to try last year. But I am happy with Clarivue. But my Sprint store had told me they had the HTC kickstand case when I asked on the phone and I said HTC one. And today he goes oh I can show you the case it's purple and I was like really the case is purple. Turns out it was wasn't the HTC case it was this case here that I had already seen online http://www.mobilecityonline.com/images/products/28095_L.jpg

But I saw the pink one on line and he had it in purple and it was cool and 20 bucks. It's 12.99 online but not in stock yet and pink and purple are my 2 favorite colors. So I think I'll buy it on Friday just to have a case right away to try. Anyone ever used a body glove vibe slider case before? Someone said the ones in 2 parts mess up your screen protector but this one might not since it's one piece. I want the Seidio Innocase Active just like I have on EVO now it's purple and is great. I hope Sedio has a dock too I had there dock for my EVO and it fit my phone with the case in it. MY store did say they had the otterbox cases and he saw my Seidio Inncoase Active and said the Otterbox was like that but I'll wait for Seidios and buy there's. I love the one on my EVO 4G now.

I just wish their screen protector would already be available... ordered a Clarivue for now.

My temporary solution from Best Buy. I need a holster too so I'll be getting something else, but I have to have a case so I don't have to baby this thing.
This is made by Pt(Platinum) which some say is also Seido.....

The stand is appreciated, but no where near the sturdiness of the EVO 4G stand.

Big Lots. They have a ton of decent, generic cases for $2 - $4. When I need a quick, temporary case for something, that's where I go. I think they sell socks, too.

Ohh that's a nice pouch! I want to get a nice pouch like that one for mine.

EDIT: Via HTCPedia, the vertical leather pouch case they advertise for the Evo3D is THE SAME case as for the Evo4G. So if you already have this case for your 4G, then it won't be any different. Also as was indicated, since the 3D is slightly taller it won't be fully protected by this case. Hopefully they release one specific for the 3D soon.

===============================================

Original Post:
They are supposedly available now via this link, I'm ordering one for myself!

HTC HD2, HTC EVO 4G Messenger Vertical Pouch

Anyone have any experience / feedback on the screen protectors they offer on this site as well? You get 3 for $8.99, not a bad price.
