Joneidy's SENSE rom, r.O.C.K. @748 MHz, SetCPU set to performance governor, no task killer, no memory clear or apps killed. 3rd test out of 5 (4 on performance, last test on 'on demand').

So when I first ran quadrant, I was on stock rom, stock kernel. I got 377. It was good for a laugh to share with my friends who have evos and droid x2s and such. After overclocking to 748 and even running Joneidy's sense rom, I got a boost ranging from (best of memory) ~489 to 563. Pretty good jump, right?

So then last night, I found and tried the UOT kitchen and made a theme just for fun. I wasn't expecting any performance gains from it--I see it as equivalent to the steering wheel covers/seat covers/bumper stickers you'd get for your car, except this will actually look cool.

Pleased with my theme, I was also insanely tired and so I went to sleep. I woke up this morning, and with somewhere to go, I thought I'd try to pair bluetooth again expecting it to fail due to previous results, except it worked this time (see my excited post at the end of Joneidy's Sense rom thread). Now just a bit ago, thinking I would post my 563 score and stop the story there, I decided to set the CPU governor on performance and run another Quadrant. Suddenly, and this is without killing extra background tasks, I got 911. from the 500's up to 911?!?!? WOW!!! All I did was put on a theme! The software equivalent of stickers!!!! lol. I ran a few more. So today, in this order, I got 911, 966, 1002, and 923 on a performance governor, and I got 876 on an 'on demand' governor.

One Thousand and Two. I no longer feel like my phone is a red-headed stepchild of the android world lol.

Anyone care to trump me? I know that these Quadrant scores should be taken with a grain of salt at times, but I wanna see what you guys running faster clock speeds than me can score. I'm at 748 MHz, and that was running a performance governor in SetCPU. I did not kill any extra processes (I don't run a task killer), and I even had a screenshot app running in the background so I could "shake" a screenshot out of it to get the above.

Just think if we all stayed stock. We'd be going "Oh, you got 377? Well I got 401! Beat THAT!" I'm just still thrilled that with a rom and an OC kernel I more than doubled my results. Blaxican--what "tweaking" did you do? Don't tell me you killed every app you could find and cleared every last teensy bit of memory just for a big number nowhere based in reality...lol

oops. its so lame that when i try to copy an image straight from my computer into the reply box, it converts it into machine code or something. anyway, from photobucket even though it takes longer, here: ELEVEN TWENTY BIZNATCHES!!! :D:D:D still no bluetooths though.

still didnt beat your 1140, blax, but close. ran several tests, lowest was 880 (brought out of screen off, still in on-demand). two other tests were below 1000, and the rest were above 1000. all but the first test were on a performance governor.

Interesting, I might try the zero rom. In terms of 561 @ stock, that sounds like what I got I think, maybe a little less, running stock.

All of you should keep in mind (for any of you who don't already know), you should take Quadrant scores with a grain of salt to give you a general idea. In that spirit of things, don't just run test--run several in a row. You'll get different numbers every time that should be in a range of a few hundred points of each other, and you can take the average. This thread is really just a fun "measuring" contest, so of course I'm going to post the highest score out of all the ones I got lol.

Keep in mind though that you may run one, but if you run it a few times after that, the numbers seem to typically get a little higher since you're making everything "wake up".

hey guys i have the sense rom also how do i set '' set cpu'' to get those scores help???

SetCPU doesn't do those scores, it's an app called Quadrant Standard. I don't know if that's what you meant though. If you were asking how to use SetCPU to overclock your phone, do you have the OC kernel installed already?

I question the legitimacy of blaxican's 5000+ score lol. the optimus m doesn't have a singular hope of doing that. Blaxican25, this is an open invitation for you to prove how you got the score lol.

in general, you need to be rooted, and try a few different roms and install an overclocking kernel. that'll usually boost your score pretty good. the score itself is just a number, but it is an approximate representation of how fast your phone is. this thread is just a fun thread where we try and obtain and show off as big a number as we can get to a degree, but more practical benchmark tests are done where you have your phone set up as how you would normally use it pretty much. in short, basically, the bigger the number, the faster your phone is. it's the same idea as in windows vista and windows 7 on regular computers where they have built in a thing called the "windows experience index".

if you're unfamiliar about rooting, roms, and overclocking, start by reading this thread: http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-...e-asking-mostly-noob-proof-guide-updated.html

odd. the sense rom is what boosted me. the oc kernel with stock shot me from high 300s to low to mid 500s. the sense rom i think is what shot me up to 800s to 1000+. i wish i could give a more definitive answer. there are uncontrolled variables though: what apps are we all running? are there some that are badly written memory hogs without knowing it? is someone running a task killer or not? its hard to say.

Isn't there a ROMZero out there for 2.2.1? Anyone test with that?

I was really hoping there was but I haven't seen one. Far as I know it's just for 2.2, and I really don't feel like downgrading again (biiig pain in the ass). So I really hope I'm wrong, because someone else has posted saying they've had higher scores suggesting better performance with that rom. Not that my phone is slow right now but I'm always happy to improve. Also kinda hoping to find a custom rom where bluetooth will work again. heh.
