Root Missing Boot Image

Hey Guys,

Just wondering why when I go to flash any Rom, I get the blue screen that says missing boot image. I have no idea where it went. I didnt delete it. Im new to alot of this and it is really driving me nuts. I have read alot of posts, and it seems I have to use sdk or adb whatever, and have no idea how to do it. Trying to learn this on the fly. I do have experience with command line in windows, but not for a long time.

Would it have anything to do with downloading rom straight from website on android and then moving it to root sd card? is it an OTA problem? Do i need to download it to my laptop and then plug fone in and copy it to sdcard?

Im using Rom Manager and can only flash to CWmod. It says there was an error flashing to Amon-Ra. First i flash CW and then try to flash AmonRa. I have heard that CWMod sucks for the Ally. Is it a problem w/ Rom Manager?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

what ROMs are you trying to flash? are you on 2.1 or 2.2?

anyway get amonra recovery here. . . http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/330813-all-one-recovery-thread.html

and now you dont need ROM manager anymore. but i really dont get how you could flash a ROM but not have the boot image. are you sure the blue screen doesnt say "fastboot mode started"? Ive deleted my boot and it booted into fastboot but didn't say anything about one thing or the other missing.

Hey, A local guy! Lived in valley born and raised. In Tucson now. Anyway, I am on 2.2.2 and I just tried to flash velocity.3 and it all worked fine but bootlooped. It bootloops all the time, no matter what I try.

Now, the missing boot image did come up before on the blue screen. It does say "fastboot started" but under that it said missing boot image. That was a month ago. Maybe I'm mistaken. I have warped my brain trying to get a faster rom hooked up.
But like I said, i can't flash anything without it bootlooping. So then I have to restore previous rom.
I will try at home(at work now), to get the amon ra from the link you provided. So I just download it to computer and then paste to sd?

I'm green, trying to learn this stuff. Could you just give me step by step instructions on how to flash recovery? Everything is there on my sdcard.
I dont know enough to figure it out for myself and do not want to mess anything up. I tried to reboot into recovery, got fastboot startup.
There has to be an easier way of doing this, like clicking a few buttons and youre done.
Anyway, Thanks for your help.

Edit: Cool, I got Velocity to flash thanks to KingofGreen! Only thing, the end button will not turn off screen and go into standby. Have any ideas???
