Droid Bionic ARena

Ok i loaded it up.. the contest starts the 4th i guess.. say 85 hrs and counting. It looks like they use your camera on your phone to "build a bionic" i assume it means grab augment "fake" parts by using your camera. Then it will according to the directions send you to within an 8th of a mile from your location to find an entry into a prize...

Here are the directions

Build the Bionic, then once your done, choose hunt from the main screen. Select a prize to track. The center arrow will direct you to where the Ar-rendered prize has been randomly dropped, approx an eighth of a mile from your location. once you are within 100 yards of the prize and can see it, press grab to be entered into the sweepstakes to win it and a Droid Bionic. Each grab counts as an entry for the chance to win.
You have 30 mins per game to find and grab as many prizes as possible, 4 total per game. Each game starts on the hour or half hour. and you play up to 48 times a day for 4 days.. The first time you grab a prize youll be asked for your FB or Twit and email so we can contact you if you win. you must be 18 and over blah blah blah...

This is from the app itself...

Guys,

Apparently you can also play this game on your computer, however I haven't figured it out (well, haven't found the link yet. If you do, please share).

Straight from their Terms & Conditions:

To enter for free and/or for non-Android device owners, to enter visit droiddoes.com/bionic ("Sweepstakes Site") and click the link entitled "Don't have an Android device." Input your location within the Google Maps interface from your personal computer. You will then use Street View Navigation to find/collect up to 4 virtual devices/prizes during each 30-minute game based on location entered, each of which will earn you one Sweepstakes entry for the corresponding device/prize. During each 5-minute segment ("Hunt") of the 30-minute game, you may capture up to 4 devices/prizes. At the end of your first Hunt where you captured at least one device/prize, you will be prompted to submit your email address and complete age verification to receive an entry corresponding to the appropriate device(s)/prize(s). If you did not capture all devices/prizes during the first Hunt, you may play in additional Hunts within that 30-minute game (if available) to capture any remaining devices/prizes.
If you have already earned an entry for that device/prize within the 30-minute game, you will not be eligible to earn another entry for that same device/prize during that 30-minute game. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on September 7, 2011, to be eligible for a chance to win. Limit one entry per device/prize, per email address, every 30 minutes, regardless of method of entry. Limit 48 entries total per device/prize, per day per person/email address (192 total entries per device/prize per person/email address for entire Sweepstakes Period). All entries must be complete to be eligible. All entries become property of the Sponsor. Sweepstakes entries generated by script or bot are not eligible.
Entrant will have an opportunity to select a training mode. The capture of device/prizes during training mode will not count as a Sweepstakes entry, however the time utilized during training will count towards the 30 minute game.

Dog-gone-it. I was hoping no one would post this... haha. Oh well.

It doesn't surprise me that they had to make it accessible to people without an Android device, but this just makes it kind of a joke. The person running around and wasting gas is getting the same opportunity to place their name in the sweepstakes as someone who's diddling around at home on their computer... who's really going to go out and do that now? (I mean, I still might do it... once - just to see what it's like).

As far as I can tell, the link will probably be present on their website for the 30 minute game intervals.

We were using Google Maps like crazy for the Droid X1 scavenger hunt early on until we realized they were giving almost exact locations for the phones with later clues. Some wild times then..lol

I'm gonna try to win something this time. With the DX1 hunt I was at work and too far away for the one in DC.

Go here if you do not have a supported phone:

www dot droiddoes dot com slash arenastreetview

^^ I'm a new user, so I can't post links =P

And don't click TOO fast on the map, if you do the screen will go grey and you'll have to refresh the page and start over. A bug I presume, but it could just be my internet connection being slow
