Root SuperCharger

So I've seen a V6_SuperCharger and a V8_SuperCharger and I've seen other things saying that the V6 does not work for the DX2 with GB and others saying it does and V8 doesn't work on the DX2...

Can someone clear up the confusion? Which one works for the DX2 with the stock GB (rooted of course)

I think I got it now.. it looks like V6 beta 9 is the most current supercharger and works while V8 hasn't been released and from what I understand it will include the SD fix and Kernel fix instead of them being seperate as they are now.

Did just the Supercharger and messed around with it a bit. Just been trying to find the option that seems to work best for my audio. After freezing a bunch of crap with Titanium I saw absolutely zero change in anything. My phone wasn't lagging to begin with since I don't use a launcher. I am actually happy with Blur.

I can't actually say whether Supercharger actually did anything though since after applying I was still having audio issues. I still gotta ply with it since opt 6 didn't really work out. Trying 7 today... Right now it looks like I'm using 243mb RAM and I have around 63mb free.. seem to have some MIA

Thanks, Hypo Luxa for getting that straight. I'm sort of looking for Supercharger, but I guess I'm living vicariously through you first.

What do your benchmarks read before and after V6?

I had the same experience with Titanium Backup freezing apps. I never saw an ounce of improvement, until I actually removed them. Then I saw a little, mainly on the benchmarks. Nothing that made me leap from my chair and say "holy S**t, this is fast"

I've been using V6 (v5) for a couple months now. I use custom settings of: 6, 20, 100, 70, 80, 90. I have tried all the options including mega memory and the settings I listed work best on my phone. I also use bulletproof launcher setting. Beyond that, I do have SD-booster installed set at 2048. I have applied the vold.stab hack to switch how the X2 see's the internal/external memory. Lastly, of course I have frozen anything I didn't need with titanium. My free memory ranges between 110 and 90. Sometimes I do a cache wipe, wipe dalvik cache too. Also, I have a widget called Fast Reboot I utilize to free up memory also. I rarely have any audio problems honestly. My biggest gripe would be Slacker/pandora/jango don't always work properly or hang up. Don't know if that's a DX2 issue however. If this happens I either reboot or close all running (non system) apps with system panel and it seems to fix the problem. Also, I recommed clearing cache's and data on finicky apps. Seems to clear up some issues for people. All in all, I can't really say my DX2 is any buggier than the 4 different DX's I had in the past. Slightly different issues, but no worse. Overall, it's a better, faster phone IMHO.

I played around with SuperCharger quite a bit on my Ascend. If you don't know, the Ascend is a very low-end phone. It lags with just about everything you do. But it's unbrickable, so people go nuts modding them. But I digress.
SuperCharger works. When you have a phone that has lag, it makes a nice difference. And making the launcher hard to kill is a huge plus. It just takes a bit of fiddling to get the 99 script to run at boot (on the Ascend anyway. I haven't tried it on my X2, haven't felt the need.)

Question, I'm currently using option 8 (MegaRAM 1 w/512mb). I do see the OOM Grouping Fixes + Hard To Kill. If I select that, does that overwrite my MegaRAM 1 settings?

Thanks!

You know, I never actually benchmarked it. I prolly should have thought of that first. I actually unrooted and factory reset my phone today since I never really saw much of an improvement in speed or in my music apps. Just seemed kinda pointless to keep scotch tape on a leaky water pipe, but as always, I dont wanna discourage you from trying because as anyone here will tell you, your mileage may vary. Besides, I've seen whisperings in another forum about a possible update coming down the pipe soon..and who knows what it will fix.
