when you press a widget does your fingerprint get highlighted kinda of like a halo effect on the screen where you pressed? I just noticed this for the first time. i have had this phone for about 4 weeks and never noticed. is this normal or is something going on with my screen? it looks kinda like if you press on your laptop screen.

i find it very odd. it doesnt bother me other than the fact that it hasnt been doing thisfor the past month. wonder why this started? Any ideas??

I'd have to agree with this assessment. If the phone is going to be fine, then I can tolerate it. Still, it hasn't been there and now it is. The only thing I can think of causing it is damage to the liquid cells, perhaps from overheating (which is NOT an issue I've encountered). I thought it was an adverse effect from my cracked screen.

I've seen it for more than a few days. I've had my phone since a day or so after release, and was starting to think it had always done that. To be clear though, mine is not doing the halo effect when I tap widgets, only shortcuts, i.e. app icons. Is that different from what others are seeing?

Mine has always done that.

I found this in another forum ...

"I noticed in the two different Verizon stores that their Bionics were running 5.9.991 when mine is running 5.5.886. I tried to do an update and mine says up to date."

I am running System Version 5.5.886 ... the glow has always been there ... what are you running?

there is also a flash when going from one home screen to the next. this i have never noticed before. i say that because i have a sticky note on one home screen that gets over saturated then back to normal when switching between screens. and i would like to think that i would have noticed it before.

It seems like it might be important to know what launcher you are using. Things like glow effects are determined by the launcher.

The stock launcher (Blur) has always had a glow when you press an icon, but not when you press a widget. It has also always had the shine/reflection when you transition between home screens. These animations can be disabled or enabled in the settings so if you've messed with any of that the your experience may differ.

I've got this now too. I actually came here tonight to ask if anyone else had seen this. I first noticed it today along with the halo effect. Only thing different was that I had navagation on for about 3 hours yesterday and the phone was pretty warm by the time I got back home. When I was checking this out, I noticed that the things I touch often have a more pronounced effect than things I've never or rarely used. One speed dial number that I call all the time actually had a kind of wave around it this afternoon, with different colors when I touched it. That's what got me started checking around. Anybody else see more of an effect with things more frequently used?

I've had my Bionic since launch day. My wife has had a Bionic for about 2 weeks. Both highlight icons in blue when pressed. what's the big deal?

Both are using the stock launcher. I can't really recall what they did when I used Go Launcher. My phone was a bit flaky with that launcher, so I dumped it. Stock and stable is better for me than fancy and glitchy.

I had to press pretty damned hard to get that effect, and I could only see it immediately around my thumb where I was pressing.

Never seen anything like that before, and never plan on doing it again.

Yeah, that's it, but it comes pretty easily now. Like most of the time frequency. It's very obvious now, and long pressing like to add or move a widget will always bring it up. I notice it a lot when playing Pocket Soccer.
