Root New "Bugless" 2.01+2.1 apps ROM...

I just went straight from a rooted droid with the 900 MHz nandroid image to Beast and I have to say, it truely is spectacular with all the new N1 updates and it's flying pretty good at 950 MHz.

It's bugless so far except one one thing. When I first turn on the phone, it kind of glitches out. It takes a bit longer than stock to get to the security screen to input my line sequence, then when it finally gets there, it flickers the screen, then restarts the Droid boot animation and takes another min to get to the lock screen again. Has anyone else expirienced this or know what might be causing it?

Thanks!

Also, I like the new weather / news widget a lot, but it's showing a sun at night time! I want it to show a friggin moon! Wtf Google?! Lol, small issue, I know..

Sorry for the noob question but how do you get this rom to overclock? I have SETCpu but of course its only 550 max. I'm running 8.6 and I thought maybe it was already built for overclocking. Like I said, sorry for the noob question but I'm just starting the rom experience and I love it!

8.6 refers to the latest version of Bugless Beauty? If so, Beauty is not overclocked. It will only run 550. As I understand it, Beauty is the same as beast except for that.

So Beauty can't be overclocked?

I imagine you can overclock it with one of the custom kernels that out there. But if you're going to do that, you just as well load Beast. But here's a page that has three kernels - 800, 900 and 1 gig. AllDroid - View topic - Droid is stable at 800MHz. Nuff said *950MHz, 1.1GHz added* Scroll down about 1/3 of the way and there you will find evilboot8, evilboot9 and evilboot1g. I used all three and they work as advertised. Installation instructions are on that page too. I think I used the nandroid versions of those files (it was weeks ago and I can't even remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, so....). good luck

I was just curious. I have installed both Beauty and the latest I have installed is the Beast and I am loving it because of the over clocking but I see in both roms Verizons Visual Voice mail is supposedly uninstalled but its still in mine. Everything like facebook and amazon mp3 are gone as advertised but I want visual voice mail gone! Is there something I'm missing?

With Root Explorer you can go into your apps and either rename it or delete it that way.

I don't know. I update.zipped new Beast 7.4 on top of nandroid install of 7.3 and neither time did I have VZW Visual Voicemail.

I've had the same thing happen for me for the past couple updates of his. No idea why it's happening (also when I unmount USB, it'll restart once, maybe twice). Seems to be something worth living with since everything else is great.

It's your notifications if you have one set from your sdcard try changing it to a stock notification. The problem should go away. I converted an .mp3 to a .ogg file, then tried for three hours last night using adb to move it from the sdcard to the system/media/audio/motifications. I got it to show up in there but couldn't see it on the list to select it.:(

I'm pretty much a n00b when it come to Linix so mabye some one here can come up with a solution.:D

Edit: I found a Linix n00b solution (I am not responsible if you brick your phone!)
1. Download root explorer from the market
2. You DON'T have to convert from .mp3 to .ogg
(You MUST rename them if you want to keep them on your sdcard also or you won't know which one is which in the notification list. i.e. mario.mp3 to mariosd.mp3)
3. Open RootExplorer
4. Go in to your sdcard/notifications file and select copy or use Multiselect from the menu to select more than one.
5. Navagate to system/media/audio/notifications
6. Press the Mount R/W button (Make sure it changes to Mount R/O)
7. Press paste (Look for files to make sure they made it into the file)
8. Press the Mount R/O button (Make sure it changes to Mount R/W)
9. Exit RootExplorer
10. Restart your phone
11. Select new notification from your phone and reboot to enjoy!:D

So i thought i was doing it all right, trying to flash latest beast, but it just hangs on the Motorola boot "M" and never goes further...had to back out and restore nandroid back up. any thoughts? In case it matter, i did it through the DroidRootPro tool.

I did mine through the update.zip. Just download the current beast update.zip and put it on the sdcard (NOT in any folders). boot to recovery. select Install, then select Allow update.zip instilation, the select install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated). Make sure it finishes, reboot and Enjoy:D

If that does not work go back over the steps required to get to this step. Mabye you missed something.

Nice, this fixed it for me, thanks a lot man. Yeah, I had some a Mabilo tone (MGS codec beep) for my notification sound, so I copied it over and boot up is fast now :D.

Also, now I can copy my Silent Hill siren sound over to make it my alarm now :D. It was kind of annoying you can't change your alarm sound without rooting .

Thanks!

I didn't even think about the alarm. My wifes gonna love that.

I also discovered from another form that if you unckeck SD Card Notifications in your settings it will stop multi rebooting also. Incase anyone wants it to stop without messing around in the system files.
