Root Unroot help please =)

i unrooted before and i had no problem but now im rooted again and i need to unroot the phone for another sprint store visit. Im following the dummues guide to root-the gingerbread edition. i first had to follow the 1st step about getting my s-on. it says s is on but when i try to do the 2nd step about getting all stock it doesnt let me. its suppose to ask if i want to update but it just reads the file and doesnt do anything. so then i say to myself maybe im unrooted already. so i try to root it again and then it says im already rooted. So my problem is that my s is on but its says im rooted....can anyone help me? i hope this isn't confusing in the way i explained it.

try the ruu that is listed at the bottom of the unrooting section. that one you run on your computer. just make sure that you have usb debugging turned on in your phone.

edit: what is your hboot?
