Just picked up the 1.2 tonight. The funny thing is that the Retail store rep didn't even know the phone existed. He swore up & down that the fender was the only one with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and I spent about 2 mins arguing him down until another rep finally came over and confirmed my story. Suffice it say they just got their stock in this morning, so that's probably why he was so clueless.

Anyways, I'm doing an unboxing now so i'll post my thoughts on it later.

It feels good to finally have the true Android experience. Hopefully this will become my primary phone.

Woah Nelly this puppy is fast. Everything is a seemless transition. I'm sure it might bog down slightly once I get to installing apps but speed wise ... no problems.

- Comes with 1.6 out the box and pre-installed with swype. Had to switch over to android keyboard until I can figure out how to use it though.

- Not at all impressed with the camera especially since I have the Behold II, the photos look grainy and how do you auto focus? I guess I'm still used to having a dedicated camera button.

So far so good, the phone is mighty fast, faster than stock Behold II. Now if only I could port the AMOLED screen over to Mytouch, I'd be ecstatic.

So I loaded up all my old apps, running GDE w/Obsidian, beautiful widgets, pure grid cal ... the whole shebang ... and still running unbelievably fast. Even when you use better cut for icons there's no delay when you go to activity.

Also love the music player with album cover flow, no more 80's retro look. Is it the same stock player that comes with the origial MT3G?

Yep, that's been my experience too.

LOL it is NewSomer ... not NewComer !!!

But the important thing is the welcome ...
Quite correct, I appreciate the welcome. I've been stuck on using my original Unix userID since my first account.

Back to the subject though. I am amazed at how much better my 1.2 refresh myTouch performs over the original. I'm running GDE home replacement and before it took about ten seconds to return to the home screen from most apps. This new phone snaps right back usually with no delay, 1/4 second pause in the worst cases. I'm even able to use the cube switch effect with no degradation.

I really like the original phone when I first got it but recently before I purchased the refresh model it was becoming really laggy. I still liked the phone a lot but the new one has restored my enthusiasm.
