Still going strong... due for an upgrade, and I haven't bothered to look.

Same here.

I got my EVO back on June 6th 2010 and saw all sorts of new hardware launched yet after a minor refresh due to sluggish performance and re-rooting it works fine for me.

I have never kept a handset this long in the 25+ years of using wireless phones.

I'm not sure I will upgrade when the window opens up again, in Apr 2012 (worked out an upgrade and 2 year extension to drop my aircard and get a free Airvana).

I can find no reason to complain :)

My upgrade is on April as well. I'm definitely waiting to see what phones Sprint will bring when LTE rolls out.

My Evo is still going strong. Along with (almost) everyone else, this thing just plain works and I can't see any reason to part with it until some LTE device hits. Of course I prefer that the device is an HTC WITH A KICKSTAND. But if I am forced to choose between HTC or a Kickstand, I'm choosing the hardware. The Evo has spoiled me.

Gotta say that, looking back, I'm really glad I stuck it out with Android after the Samsung Moment sh*tbomb.

I believe I am going to get away from the EVO at the first of the year and go ahead and try out the iPhone 4s. Sprint stop working offshore where I am at in October after a storm came through and knocked a tower down. After NUMEROUS calls to them, I still can not use my EVO while at work, where as for years prior to it worked fine. So a guy that had an EVO got the 4s and stood next too me and the EVO go NO SIGNAL, his iPhone had 3-4 bars with no problem.

Case closed at that point.

So if anyone would like an HTC EVO the first of the year, please send me a private message...Maybe we can make a deal.

Isn't it possible, if you're rooted, to force your phone to roam so that it has access to the same towers that the Iphone you were standing next to has? I know sprint doesn't like it if you've got free roaming but that's their problem.

Development's still strong and the phone is still fast and capable enough for anything I throw at it. There's no compelling reason out there for me to switch beyond the desire for a new thing. Unless a unbelievable deal comes across my bow, I'm waiting for LTE/ICS devices, which means late spring or more likely summer. This is the best phone I've ever owned (and I've had a lot), I'll miss it when it's gone.

here is the thing...

I have an upgarde..
get the EVO 3D or Epic ET for $200, plus activation

i can sell my EVO for $150
so if i do it now.. it would cost me about $90.

or wait till after CES and when that phone comes out...
my EVO will drop in value... maybe i can still get $100.
so then it will cost me $140ish

hey guys, do any of guys have the issue where the htc sense screen is loading/restarting like all the time?

I'm just curious because it seems the majority here are happy with the evo4g but my phone homescreen is repeatly restarting.

do you guys know of a fix or thread? running stock 2.3.3 thanks!!

yeah.. i had that issue once... a few months back...
what I did to fix it:
I installed a new custom ROM.. and the problem disappeared.

maybe there was an APP that you installed that created a conflict.
or
there must have been a small bug in one of the updates.
