Help battery and android updates

hi, i am having problems with my galaxy s 2, when i charge the phone and the notification sounds that the phone is fully charged i unplug it, the little icon on the top of the screen with ''100%'' charge is on but on my phone, this doesnt go off even when the battery is about to go flat...??? i used to get 2 days battery life now im lucky if i get 7 hours... i always shut down apps when im finished with them too! My phone has no new updates ether of android 2.3.5 im still running on 2.3.3... my bother has the same phone and has none of these problems... any help out there

You've posted in the original Galaxy S forum, not the Galaxy S2 forum. I have the phones box here so its a samsung galaxy sII gt-I9100T... Its my first smart phone too so this this web site should be a big help id say

What are you using to shut off apps? The inbuilt task manager or something like Advanced Task Killer?

Tell us what you have running on your phone. Are you using any software that polls the server on a regular basis. There is usually a reason the battery all of a sudden gets consumed.

Also what kind of coverage do you have. Very poor coverage will ravage your battery

im just using the one built into the phone i have the juice defender app and have it set on aggressive but still have very little battery!

im just using apps like facebook, youtube, music downloader, i dont have too many apps and just really use a few... im not sure to be honest! as for the coverage i work in a underground tunnel so i never have coverage at work but still have my phone on....maybe thats whats wrong?

Have you tried it without Juice Defender? I actually found Juice Defender to have the opposite effect of what it was supposed to.

Yep, if you have weak/no signal, the phone will push more power to the radio in an effort to get a better one. That might be what the issue is (I'm 99.99% sure it is).

Re the updates, is your brothers handset branded with network software or unbranded?

fully charge the battery, switch off the phone, remove the battery for about 30 seconds,then reinsert the battery and switch on. This gives the charge meter to recalibrate itself. good luck
