I've not had chance to look at this latest kernel cleaner yet as my laptop is buggered so I may have to wait until i'm back in work on wed before I can have a proper look.
The ultimate kernel cleaner removes specific files from the init.d folder so my guess is it wipes specific kernel and/or custom ROM files.
The v1 of the one I did removes all startup scripts. This would give the next kernel a truly fresh start.
I know certain roms have specific startup scripts as standard, so is your choice as to if you want to keep them. I posted and discussed all the checkrom startup scripts in my kernel cleaner thread. I can create a checkrom init.d folder restore .zip if required. I just have the siyah battery in my init.d folder using checkrom and all works very well for me.
i'm contemplating new features in my next version (eg. Removing /data/user.log. So that you know messages are only from the current kernel) and like I mentioned in my original thread, i'm open to any suggestions.
Edit: After 2 hours I've finally managed to boot my laptop. How long it lasts is anyone's guess.
I've looked at this new kernel cleaner, and it is in fact IDENTICAL to the Ultimate version with the exception of what it prints to the screen, and that it also removes Voltage Control's startup script.
it deletes the following:
/system/etc/init.d/S91voltctrl
/system/etc/init.d/S_volt_scheduler
/system/etc/init.d/S70zipalign
/system/etc/init.d/S90scheduler
/system/etc/init.d/S99finish
/system/etc/init.d/89system_tweak
/system/etc/init.d/98system_tweak
/system/etc/init.d/S89system_tweak
/system/etc/init.d/S98system_tweak
/system/etc/init.d/S90screenstate_scaling
/system/etc/init.d/90screenstate_scaling
/system/etc/init.d/98screenstate_scaling
/system/etc/init.d/S98screenstate_scaling
