Root UPDATED *** 8-12-12 ***Rooted OTA (2.11.605.19) Files

thank you for getting back to me i just have a couple more questions.

does this apply to the debloated version as well? Meaning i dont have to do a data wipe?
that is correct. however, please be aware that flashing either version without a data wipe could cause issues. prolly not since youre flashing a stock rom over a stock rom,but if you have glitches,or minor bugs,be prepaired to do a full wipe and reflash before accusing the rom developer or htc/vzw of bad firmware ;)

a "full wipe" is the best way to ensure you wont have prollems. backing up your user apps with titanium backup makes reset up much easier.

there are apps in the market that you caneven backup your call log and text messages if you so desire. :)

do i need to do the radio flash?
no. but id reccomend to. most folks are reporting faster and more stable 4g,so its well worth the effort to flash,IMO. if you experience anything negative, you can always reflash your current radio.

and should i wipe the delvik cache and partion cache?
yes

:)

okay so new to rooting. I had root after last update and this morning I got the android with blue exclamation

I am downloading "I have a rooted version only http://www.multiupload.com/Q9712WLU9B (MD5 - 5DCD5E3D1AE911D1DDB4300F4D313C75)"

So i turned off phone and held volume and power to get to white screen.. my options are:

FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB
IMAGE CRC

I am wondering how to wipe Cache so my phone dosen't try to install the update. Also Astro is on my SD card which dosent load fast enough to rename that license file.

Now would my next step just be to put the PG05IMG.zip file on my sd and go to white screen and wait 3 seconds? I'm sorrry for the annoying questions just dont want to brick my phone :( Thanks and million for any help

****EDIT****

So i found the clear cache and now it isnt shutting down my phone after 10 seconds. I paid for Root Explorer and tried to rename the file(then go to the folder etc/security and rename the otacerts.zip file to otacerts.zip.bak ): but it said it was only read only and would not let me re-name.

So now that I have cleared my Cache should I just procede with "put the PG05IMG.zip file on my sd and go to white screen and wait 3 seconds?" and then do the radio part after?

ok, I must the newbiest of noobs. Everytime I try to load a ROM, I no longer have my Apps, even in the 'Market- My Apps'. So I end up reverting to my stock ROM. So noob questions: Is there a way I can load this Rom and not lose my 'stuff/ settings'? or, can I just load the radios without loading the ROM?

Ok, think I figured out the first part. ONly question now, How do I know if the radios were updated? I did the HBOOT thing but nothing happened.

get root explore from the market. then open it and llok for a folder called cache. In there will be a folder called fumo, and in fumo might be the ota update file, delete it. then go to the folder etc/security and rename the otacerts.zip file to otacerts.zip.bak

Hi there,

I used root explorer to erase that pesky update (again), and wanted to rename that otacerts, zip file but I get a message saying it can not because it is read only.

Hmm, any ideas to that?

I have NOT applied your rom yet. But I am rooted with revolutionary.

***Update***

Ha ha! I went into root explorer (for another reason) and saw that little switch on the top "mount as RW" and pushed it to change the permissions.

I didn't even know that was there.

Hey. I installed the 3.1 debloated version from the SD CARD using revolutionary recovery mode and it seemed to install way to fast.

I also didn't have to use the radio to get the internet.

When I am booted up I checked my software version and it is now 2.11.605.9 instead of 2.11.605.5
Also if I check for update it says none.

Is that weird?

How else do I tell if it actually flashed the rom properly?

I have already flashed the radios. Should I flash the rom like I normally would?
Excuse the ignorance, but I'm yet another noob figuring this out. Can someone tell me exactly how to flash the rooted ROM provided by jrocker? I'm fine with the radio portion but since this is something I've never done before, all of the jargon (such as clockwork) is flying over my head. I'm absolutely fed up with wiping the cache twice daily due to OTA.

Your recovery is called clockwork mod. If your software shows .9 then you are indeed on the latest version.

Follow the guide in the all things root sticky.

Couple questions. If I flash this, and then flash a new ROM over the top after doing all the proper wipes, will these radios stick? If I then flash a AOSP ROM after, will it go back to whatever those radios are? Thanks.

Radios will not get wiped unless you flash new ones. Radios get Flashed in Hboot not recovery so there is no chance of wiping them.

It installs pretty fast because its a zip file with all bloatware removed

You got to the internet because it used your previous radios. Flashing roms does not flash the radio, radios have to be flashed seperately in Hboot.

You have the newest update but your probably running the older radios... See a few posts up by me on what the radio info should be..

I flashed this rom and the radios and everything seems to be working great. However, I have one problem. My phone was already in the process of downloading the OTA update when I did this flash. I guess the download completed even though I did the flash and it then asked me if I wanted to apply the update or defer it. I deferred it the maximum amount of time (5 days), but now I don't know if my phone is going to try installing the stock update or will see that it's on .9 and just forget it. When I look in Software Update, I have the option of installing deferred SW, but no option to delete it. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Your probably going to need to wipe and reflash the ROM.

Thank You So Much Checked Md5 and they are good and ROM and Radio works perfect no problem whatsoever but i have one question, Why do some ROMS come with radios? (what is the radio...)

Roms dont come with radios, RUU (official releases from verizon) do. Developer roms dont have radios because some like to mix and match radios, roms & kernals.

Radios are needed to make the 3G & 4G work....

Also its safer to flash roms without radios in general.
