I have seen people asking about something like this, and I figured I would share it since it is something I have found to be pretty useful.

It's a little app that automatically enables the speakerphone for all incoming and outgoing calls when your droid is in the cardock. For anyone that doesn't use bluetooth, and doesn't want to remove the phone from the dock for a 10 second call, this is a nice app to have.

That's a great idea. Maybe email the developer and see if they can add that functionality? I'm sure it can't be much different than enabling the speakerphone.

Nice. Sounds better in every way than the app I recommended according to the description. I am downloading it now. Thanks for the info.

Only slight drawback is that it is $0.99 as opposed to the other one, which is free. Not that it isn't totally worth it, just sayin. This does have many more options tho, including the bluetooth support.

DockAwake looks great. It would be five stars if the GPS would automatically come on when in the car dock.

Anyone else have problems with Car Dock Speakerphone just not working at all?

I installed, ran the app, went back to home and made an outbound call, received an inbound call and it never auto activated the speakerphone (phone was in dock, out of dock, back into dock, etc).

Any ideas? Am i doing something wrong?

Toggles Setttings... can set profiles and rules... 1 of the profiles changes settings to when you are in the car dock, and 1 of the settings is bluetooth on, and its free.

Yeah, but it doesn't allow auto-on speakerphone when in dock.

Locale. It's $10 which I realize is a little steep, but it's very flexible and has a ton of plugins available in the Market as well. I have my phone set up that when it's in the car dock it disables screen lock, turns screen timeout to never, enables bluetoooth & GPS, disables Wifi, and turns the ring/notification volume all the way up. That's just one of the many rules I have set up in Locale. The price is totally worth it.

Am I to assume that those of you in the car dock are not using the Google Nav feature Whenever I use the Nav feature in the car dock, I never have timeout issue sat all....

So all this talk of disabling screen timeouts is a bit perplexing to me....

Wow, I didn't realize that Locale was a paid app now, but it sounds like it has so much more functionality compared to the earlier free version! I may have to give it another go; I got rid of it because my phone can't find a GPS signal in my office building, so the only other rules that were available were time-based. Plus I only used it for ring volume and decided I could change that on my own.

I have also tried Car Dock Speakerphone, and it seems to be hit-or-miss. Locale might be worth it just for this purpose. Can Locale toggle speakerphone [edit: reliably]?

Not sure if it can do speaker phone, but I'd imagine there's a plugin available that can do that. If you search Locale in the Market, you'll find all the plugins available as well.
