On the Inc, several kernels began including a "volume boost" a while back. I'd venture to say it will be included fairly soon on some kernel work with the GN. Nothing that I have seen yet.

Post above is a solution try volume+

Hope so, because this low volume stuff is making me miss calls. With this OtterBox it doesn't help either, I can't feel me phone vibrate anymore...so kind of a double whammy.

Does this Volume + help increase the ringer volume of the phone or just the speaker or headset volume during calls?

it can do all 3, but the main advantage is the external speaker boost. this is what is used for your ringtones/notifications, so it is the setting you are really going to want to play with. i am using the free version from the market at +4, and it has helped immensely although i am still thinking about paying for the full version that goes to +10.

Thanks for the nfo!

axiom 2.2 makes the speaker much louder.

Was just looking at installing this. How do you like it?

On the stock locked 4.0.2, you can't go over +8 on the paid version of Volume+. Anything over that and it goes quiet.

Custom roms will be required to get the +8 - +16

i've been going up to +10 or so on bone stock locked 4.0.2 ....anything above +10 or so just doesn't make any difference in loudness, it does not go quiet. The trick, which took me a while to figure out, is to follow the instructions in the guide, to the letter. it says to press the volume up several times to test settings. this is what seems to lock the settings in. and i hear it getting louder, up to +10 or maybe even +11. there seems to be no increase in loudness until +8 or so either. so it's stock until +8, then louder till +10 then remains at that loudness.

The extra equalizer settings is worth the price alone. Plus its nice just to support the developer by purchasing the app. I think nearly every GNexer is using it by now. LOL.

From one Orange to another, I recommend buying it.

If you're broke, though, he does offer it for free on his site.

Liquid's rom includes DSPManager. It has an equalizer with settings for speaker(external), headset/phones(wired), and Bluetooth. There are several presets for rock, pop, small speakers, etc.

It gives a little boost to the volume but may not be enough for what the OP wants.

Its a nice feature, as you can set each speaker set individually, although the app was more important my og Droid which did not have the equalizer built in to the music app.
