I have a galaxy s2 and wanted to know if their is an option to select and delete all emails. My old android device had the option to select all and delete but i cannot seem to find any button for that option on my new galaxy. Any insight to this would help me out a load. TIA

You're right. In the email application, there is no option to select all email messages and delete. The best you can do is open the email accounts inbox, then select menu/delete, then using the check boxes, select the messages you want to delete and press "delete" at the bottom of the screen.

K-9 Email does have the option to select all and delete. Select your inbox, hit menu/select all, then hit the trash can icon at the bottom of the screen. I've been using K-9 email for a long time and it works great! Find it in the Android Market.

Update! I notice they finally fixed the option to delete multiple emails through the stock email app. You just select move to folder and click on what you want deleted and its be done! Just thought i post up from the new update!

That isn't a new feature. I haven't updated my phone yet and I can do what you say. But you still cannot select all, you still have to pick the individual emails, and you still cannot select "mark as read" either. In fact what you said does the same thing as what I mentioned in my earlier post.."The best you can do with the stock email app is open the email accounts inbox, then select menu/delete, then using the check boxes, select the messages you want to delete and press "delete" at the bottom of the screen".

I sometimes get a lot of emails that I don't plan on reading but I also don't want to delete them, so "Mark email as read" is important to me. K-9 email does all this and more.

I just moved to the Galaxy S2 and the email function is driving me crazy. I hate the fact that it does not have a select all for deletion. What makes that even worse is that the emails keep coming back. I am also getting emails from 1969!!!! Did we even have email back then...I think not. I have checked the server from the provider and there isn't anything there. I have deleted the account and set it up again several times. About ready to give up. I never had this issue with my Evo.
