Help instable (app)

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and this issue might have been posted before, but a seach didnt result in a "good" answer, and i dont feel like manually browsing through dozens of pages.
If so, I apollogise for asking this again.

But since some time, my sgs2 "freezes" and closes the app its currently running. This seems to be happening more and more often, and with no 1 app in particular.
2 moths ago it happend once a day, now it can be as often as every 5 minutes.

My guess is that there is some app causing this instability, is there any kind of log of phone performance, so I can backtrack what is causing this? Or is there some sort of system feature that can detect instabillity before it freezes?
I dont feel like resetting to factory defaults, since that would cause massive loss of data...
I heared/read something that its due to many apps not supporting dualcore phones, and that rooting your phone and disabling one of the cores fixes this, does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks

Welcome to Android Forums!

Unfortunately not.

The only apps that would apply to are ones very poorly coded, and so likely to have problems even on single-core devices. Ordinarily an app won't care. I don't know of any apps that won't work on dual-core devices.

I suggest uninstalling as many third-party app as you can, ideally leaving only those core ones that shipped with the handset, to see if the situation improves. If it does, gradually reinstall apps over a few days and watch for the problem returning.

I understand your reluctance to reset the device, but in cases like this it's often the solution. Note that enabling "Back up my data" in Settings/Privacy will sync a list of installed apps, homescreen layouts and more with your Google account, making restoring the device after a reset much easier.
