You know that annoying boost mobile logo in your top left hand corner of your home screen. Well here is a way to get rid of it. Boot into CWM select install from sd locate the BannerRemover zip select yes then reboot and your good to go...

If you would like to Change what the banner says instead of removing it all you have to do is (after flashing the BannerRemover.zip and reboot) with root explorer Browse to /data and long press until menu pops up and select text editor

Now on like 7 looks like this
EriInfo RoamingIndicator="1" IconIndex="1" IconMode="0" EriText="" CallPromptId="0" AlertId="0" /
where the quotation marks are the two together after EriText= in between those add what ever you want to say there.

Then we are going to move to line 46. Looks like this
EriInfo RoamingIndicator="99" IconIndex="1" IconMode="0" EriText="" CallPromptId="0" AlertId="0" /
and same thing as line 7 where it says EriText= after the quotation marks put the same word as you put for line seven.

Once all that is done just save and reboot then your good to go. Hope this helps.

PS if all else fails download but (don't extract zip) to your desktop open the zip go to the data folder right click the erixml file open with note pad and just edit the same lines i have stated above then save copy to sd then flash and your all set.

Just want to thank blovadova for giving us the miui rom, hroark13 For the CM7 rom
http://androidforums.com/members/inigomontoyasr.htmlinigomontouasr for helping me realize that its on data-ext lol

PPS will not work on ctmod for it is not data-ext

DOWNLOAD:Roaming indicator / Banner remover

Works exactly as advertised. Thank you. i had already used nobanner.zip to remove the label, but tried editing it (via es file explorer) and... Well look for yourself :D

Thanks. The roaming off indicator was driving me up the wall! I found this thread through the Miui GB thread. One question. The customizing section is a bit confusing.

What file do I need to edit if I want to have custom banner. Is the editing done before or after flashing the zip.

According to what I understood from your directions it was to be flashed and the file then edited... only thing is my /data folder is empty. Was I supposed to place something there?

Thanks. Even if I cannot get the customization portion working this has already helped a lot!

When you flash it places eri.xml file in your /data and that is what removes the banner. Now to customize u can either do it on the computer by copying the eri.xml file in the zip. Or you can do it after flashing with a file manager like esfile that has root permissions just edit with text editor. What i do is i copy the erl.xml file to my computer i do not unzip. then i right click the xml file and open with notepad. and the 7th and 46th line where the "" are ( two right side by side) i put what ever i want to say there. so like "" will turn into "kristopher" then i save and drag it back to the /data in the zip file then reflash.

If you like just PM me what you want it to say and i can make it up for you real quick

I'm still trying to understand what banner this is referring to? The only place I even see the word "Boost Mobile" is if I pull down the notification bar. Other then that I don't really see any reference to Boost anywhere on the phone. I'm using CM7 and I don't see it on my home screen either.

CM7 might have the banner removed completey. Haven't checked. But in the MIUI GB rom there's a "permanent" Roaming Indicator Off in the stat bar. Too much screen real estate! I had to get it off. So if you're on Miui GB it applies. If you're on CM7... not sure.

CM7. Has the banner it just say boost mobile is all. This will remove that also.

The only place my CM7 has the banner is on the drop-down & the lock screen. You're saying that this will be removed or renamed? I thought this only removed the banner that was on the home screen like on MIUI. :)

its just one line to change in the framework-res.apk once you extract it:
framework-res.apk\res\values\strings.xml
search for "roaming indicator" and change the line from "roaming indicator off" to anything you want it to say, or just leave a space between " " for blank.
