Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Thanks Roze,

June 16th is my oldest stepsons high school graduation party, so I was on a deadline to have a presentable yard. I did both the front yard and back yard. Now that most of it has been cleaned up, it will be easier to maintain going forward (that and not running around getting kids to and fro) and picking at the edges.

Meant to comment on those pics, looks like you did a nice job!

Yogurt and granola for breakfast this morning - delicious.

I LOOOOOVE granola. I found a great recipe for it a while back and love to make it, but I don't do it often...because I will eat the whole thing it's soooo good.

Well your daughter and her friend are both gorgeous in their prom dresses. I just hope the guy that decided not to take her to prom kicked himself for the next mile or so for being a complete idiot!

He is...he texted her the day of prom and sent her flowers this morning. She's not falling for it, though. :D

Morning everyone! I had a really busy weekend. I've been babysitting my 2 nieces and 2 nephews from Friday to Sunday :( So I'm quite tired now -_-zzzz) On Saturday, the neighbours' kids (3) decided to come over and play, so I ended up taking care of 7 kids!!!

Holy moly...I would need a bottle of tequila to make it through that. Glad you survived. Take a well deserved nap.

That's if it gets accepted.

I guess my biggest gripe is that if it gets rejected for any reason it goes back to the end of the line and you have to wait around 7-8 days for it to be re-reviewed.

I assumed acceptance.;) I'm not a dev as you know, but I have seen some of the out there rejections devs have mentioned from Apple. Seems like your only potential issue would be the WW angle.

Afternoon all. :) Pretty busy here today, haven't been able to duck my head in.

The girlfriend and I are throwing her parents a surprise 30th anniversary party next weekend, so we spent all Saturday and Sunday getting ready for it, making decorations, etc. She's been planning it for a few months now, plotting with her brothers and other relatives. Hopefully it goes well. :)

Well, the rain just kicked in here. Second day in a row of gloomy weather. Oh well, we need it bad, and I am working. I just wish I still had my old seat (2nd floor window) to watch it roll it.

Which reminds me, hurricane season starts in a little over two weeks. I am kind of a nut about following them, they fascinate me, and I always find myself wishing the weak ones would come near. (TS and Cat 1s, Cat 2+ Stay the hell away though). I have been through quite a few, but thankfully all were either not a direct hit, or were weak storms to begin with, and I am not crazy enough to ignore an evacuation order. Anyone else fascinated by them as I am?

I'm absolutely enthralled by hurricanes and tornados both. I find myself obsessively checking the Weather Channel during hurricane season and rooting for those Cat 2 and 3 hurricanes to make that jump to a cat 5...but stay away from land, you know. I've been through a couple but they are all weakened pretty badly and disorganized by the time they got to me. Katrina was still pretty stout when she passed through, but not up to the cat 5 status she was just before landfall.

Edit: BTW First tropical depression of the season today.

Not that I want them, but I am fascinated by them. Last year I sat outside in my shed when Irene came through.

Of course, three bored kids and a wife in the house with no power and a fridge full of cold beer in the shed may have influenced my decision.:D

Facebook IPO getting closer - anyone going to buy? Form 8-A12B

Not when they mention that they aren't able to monetize mobile platforms.

Plus, I used to go on and scroll through pages and pages of posts from the few friends / family I have on there but now there are likely fewer than 20 new posts a day. I think even my technologically illiterate family is tiring of them constantly tweaking the order of the feeds (when we really just want newest to oldest, not what FB thinks we want to read at the top), sharing stuff we don't want shared, etc. I don't think I've posted anything there in months. Just log in from time to time.

About the same for me. My wife is pretty active, but more for chat than the classic wall posting, etc.

Heck no! First, economics: by the time the Class A shares are sold out to the big $$$ investors and the common stock is all that's left for the rest of us peons, it's not going to be worth a lot. Besides: I agree that it's overpriced, overvalued and over-hyped. People will get all excited, buy high and sell low. Bad way to win in the market.

Second, sheer patriotism: I will not contribute a DIME to some goobah who has already said he'll renounce his U.S. citizenship just before the IPO... to save on taxes. I pay MY fair share of taxes... what does a guy standing to make 5 or 6 Billion dollars care about a few taxes on money he simply "earned" by being in the right place at the right time? I'm not an occupier or a "tax the rich" guy (I've never been hired by a poor person), but everyone who lives here (or makes money here) needs to contribute to the cause, IMHO. Quitters don't impress me.

Third: I think facebook is almost at the top of its game. Sure, the app market is coming, crossing all platforms. But with a BILLION users already on it... how much growth potential does it really have? At best, it'll be a good growth stock (once the IPO hype settles down). But I hope no one expects to make millions on FB stock.

My 0.02 :)
