This looks exciting and I'm not even a sprint customer.

Is the Nexus One going to be sold through Google or will Sprint actually have the device in store?

I believe the answer to that is through Google. I'll have to see if I can find the article, but it was in conjunction with Verizon and the word was they were not going to sell or service the phone. That means if you have a problem, you'll have to send the phone away and you'll have to deal with Google or HTC with your issues, if any.

Edit: I would think the same would apply to Sprint customers.

Yeah I figured that. I spoke to a Sprint manager in NYC and stated that he will have a Nexus One in store because he wants consumers to try it out. Anyway, I'm getting the Supersonic. :D

Welcome to the Supersonic forum, dkotoric :)

I think the Nexus One will only be sold through google for now anyway on all carriers. As far as me though th eonly reason I may be picking up the Nexus One is if I have to wait a long time for the Supersonic, cause if they announce the Supersonic coming in June or something and Nexus One available now I will probably be buying a Nexus One and then upgrading later then to supersonic.

Actually I would prefer for it to come out in early June. I will have more time to save up by then. Plus my birthday is on that month lol. Regardless, this phone is mine.

My bet is that the phone will be sold by Sprint and other 3rd party sellers.....I base this on the fact that the handset has been spotted on inventory lists over the past several weeks......We will all know tomorrow (hopefully).

Yes the Supersonic will most likely be straight through sprint but we are discussing the Nexus one through Sprint.

Rumor is the Supersonic will be available within 2 weeks.

I believe it would be a mistake to set the price too high on the Supersonic, but we should know all about it real soon.

BTW dkotoric, if you look at post 271 you'll see that there is going to be some kind of official word tomorrow and certainly, we will know a lot more on Wednesday. So don't be afraid, go ahead and let yourself get excited.

I wouldn't worry about that FCC thing right now either. From my understanding, it only takes about 10 days to clear, so maybe they're waiting until the phone is unveiled before they start that process.

Wow, I just saw the message on my sprint login page about a groundbreaking new device coming tomorrow! Can you imagine how outraged so many people would be if it WASN'T the supersonic they're announcing? For that reason alone it makes me confident that it will be the supersonic. I'm ready to buy this phone on day one because I've been out of contract for a while now, basically waiting for a droid-killer, made by htc for sprint. I do wish the SS had a slide out keyboard so it had better potential for gaming and writing long emails, but I'm considering a blutooth keyboard and if there's ever a version with a KB for cdma, I can always sell the SS no problem.

Do any of you have a plan on how you'll buy yours? The stores in my area never have new phones, it took them months to get a Touch Pro2 after its release, so I'm thinking telesales will be the best option. Better yet, since we have 4 lines on a family plan that are all out of contract, I bet retentions will be able to give me a discounted plan along with the SS upgrade and a free Pixi on another line. EXCITING!
