Shipping date speculation

Posted by: w2tpmfI just got off the phone with Google Play customer service. I was calling them because they removed the pending charge from my CC. They said that my order was already being processed for shipping. I told her that GameStop was claiming a release date of the 12th. She said she couldn't comment on that, but that I would receive it before those customers!
I even made sure to specifically ask, ''So I will get mine before someone who ordered though GameStop or Staples?". Her answer was, "Yes, sir, That is correct".

Officially out the 12th! Just got off the phone with GameStop they confirmed first shipment will be in this Thursday. : Nexus7

Saw this on a post on Reddit. Don't know how credible the person is, but it does get me a bit giddy.

Valued Staples customer,

Thank you for selecting a Google Nexus tablet during our pre-sale campaign. As this is a pre-sale, the order number assigned when you pre-ordered (Staples order number above) will not provide valid tracking information and at some point will show a status of cancelled when tracked on Staples.com. We want to assure you we have reserved your Nexus and it will ship between July 12th and July 17th with a transit time of 1 - 3 business days. You will receive your order number that can be tracked when the product ships and your credit card will be charged at that time.

We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any further questions, please contact us at 800-333-3330 and reference your order number.

Thank you for choosing Staples.

Sincerely,
Staples Customer Service

I think first of all, lets all take a big deep calming breath. lol.
While I LOVE the passion for this tablet lets not lose our heads. If you ever go to the archos sites you will pretty much read the same paranoia, heated debate and near fist fights that we will soon reach.

A. reality is that if you get it 2 days later than someone who didn't pre-order you won't die. You'll lose your bragging rights to someone virtually but you won't die.

B. Just be prepared for reality and that is someone WILL go to a B&M store and get one before you get your pre-order and just figure out a way to be ok with that notion.

Here is what I think will happen. People who order from someone other than google will have the device arrive at their door step slightly later or at the same time as google pre-orders unless someone paid for over night shipping. B&M will have it on sale when the pre-orders are shipped. But they won't have enough to satisfy everyone so you are taking a chance of either being lucky of getting one or be left with nothing.

Shipping is out of google's control. But when the shipping can begin, google has a say in it. All the pre-order gives you is the insurance that you have dibs on the first batch. "IF" they run out during pre-orders then none of the B&M would have them. But if there are units left after pre-order obviously, B&M will have plenty.

Think GS3. Preordering worked out for those guys. But thats not always the case. In a lot of instance, pre-ordering does not benefit you at all. I have friends who pre-ordered CDs and games and I just went and bought it day 1 at best buy, went home and play while my friend twiddle's thumb for another 3 days.

Regardless, a few weeks from now nobody will even think about this thread....until the next nexus device and we repeat with the same conversation. lol.

No. I am not sharpening the pitchfork just so I can NOT kill something. That would be foolish.

If I see a UPS guy I'm gonna be on them like a spider monkey!

I want to see that video! :D

So now I've got a battle going on to see which Jellybean toting device I hold in my hand first. Do I happen to get the official OTA for my GNex first or does the N7 land on my doorstep before the OTA. Hoping to hear that email ping late tonight.

I don't think they'll COME tomorrow - but I have a very strong feeling that they will be shipping tomorrow - or maybe they shipped today, just the e-mails won't be arriving until later tonight? But then again, nobody has been charged... So I doubt they've shipped them already :(

Again, I doubt Google would make it available in retailers before it's at least shipped..

My F5 key is going to break the frustrating things is I see people in the US getting it before the UK.

Anyone know of any video's of the Nexus 7 been started up and the initial set-up for first usage as I would like to see how its set-up and how much from this can be customised.

You guys ALWAYS get phones first. Do you have any idea how frustrating it was waiting for the Verizon GNex to come out?? The US is always last in like everything tech. Let us feel good about ourselves just this once.
