i heard when u truly brick your phone (wont boot up in any way), u gotta send it to your manufacturer.. I hear they replaces the motherboard in the device..?

Now, cant i take apart another android, take the motherboard out, and swap it with mine? Will that work!?!?? Someone let me know cuz my phone is Super Fully Truly Bricked!!.........

^^This.

Bricking a phone is becoming (erroneously if you ask me) a term used when something goes wrong in modifying it. To brick a device means to make it as useful as a brick ... it sits there and you can't do much else with it. If you mess up rooting or flashing and it won't boot, but you can still power it on (either it locks at the splash screen or boot-loops) then you're not truly bricked. There are ways to recover that most of the time.

If your phone truly won't power on at all and it's not a defect in the power button or the battery, then it is bricked. Now, let's say you have a bricked phone for whatever reason and it was done through flashing (maybe you had a blackout during the flash process and it uninterrupted the write) and you had a phone of the exact same model with a cracked screen that somebody gave you (or you bought off craigslist for $25), then yes, it would be possible. Just be aware that the resulting device would operate under the IMEI/ESN of the motherboard, so if you are swapping make sure the serial number is clean.

so i have an optimus one, that means i cant use an optimus v? or s? it HAS TO BE optimus one?

I can't say absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, but there are a couple ways to find out. The first is to try it. If it works, then you know. Since your phone is bricked, you've got nothing to lose anyway.

Another way would be to search for replacement parts online and see if things like the screen digitizer and battery are interchangeable for the Optimus line. If they are, then it would be a safe bet that it would work electronically, but you might have a problem getting slots/buttons/covers to line up correctly since Virgin Mobile's mdel might have a differently shaped case. Of course the Optimus One is a GSM phone and the V, S, M models are all CDMA devices so I'd be suprised if they worked. Even if they did work, you wouldn't be able to use your existing carrier, you'd have to switch to Sprint or Virgin Mobile or Metro PCS (assuming they'd activate the phone for you.)

i just thought of something.. to get someones broken phone, and take their motherboard out, this will mean that their phone was broken in the 1st place, so the motherboard will be no good..? correct?

It could be that the screen was broken and the motherboard is fine. The biggest causes of damage to phones is dropping them on something hard (broken screens) or dropping them in liquid (water damage). The former would probably not have motherboard damage, the latter might.

im searching google for lg optimus motherboards.. cant find any! not on ebay, amazon, craigslist, nothing! how do i get one!??

You most likely won't find one for sale as a replacement since those may not be available, even to repair centers. The only way to get one would be to harvest one from another phone. The most likely way to get one is to find someone willing to sell one with a damaged screen cheaply. How you go about that, is simple legwork (put up notices in the classifieds on eBay or craigslist). If they are not out there, then you may have to consider sending it back to LG for repair.
