Probably from all the people hitting refresh to hear word from G60 saying the camera works acted like a DOS attack. LOL
My girlfriend actually uses ye ol' Triumphant as her mini-Tablet for games, music, and social doings. I actually just put the newest version of CM9 on it and this version is nice and smooth. i told her that she has a better CM9 now than (and this is in no disrespect to Mantera) than the previous CM9 builds I ran back in the day. On a side note, our shared experiences with Android have swayed her away from the iPhone and the iPad.

I feel a possible alpha cam fix is around the corner. Just ad a heads up to everyone, dont expect it to be perfect out of box. It might take a picture. Ffc might work. I'd say video probably won't work til its tweaked further and don't expect it to ever do 720p recording. 720p is memory intensive and older hardwarre can't keep up with demeands from system and camera. My old g2 still can't 720p. It used to. But ics/jb take too much to just run.
Dorragaray just released preview 9 for touchpad. Enables video recording in 640x whatever. Awesome. Breaks WiFi. Not awesome. Development takes time. Try not to hold your breathe. Give g60 a few days. Then check back. Maybe a week. Or 2. Lol

I wouldn't say don't expect 720p recording ever, the HTC One V has the same amount of ram as our phone, and it runs ICS and can do 720p recording. I wouldn't expect it right away, but it is possible especially with the devs we have

The v is newer hardware designed to be optimized. Different kernel. Plus the image sense chip HTC puts in the one series.
Again, I'm basing this on development from desire z, desire hd, and other HTC device communities. The dhd has more ram than one v I think. Still no 720p. That's the reason HTC scraped the update. They couldn't make it keep feature. They would have lost features and HTC wont update then.

It will work. It may not have full resolution in video mode, but I don't see why it won't in still mode. We might be able to free up some RAM by adding in a swap file or reducing some of the other parts (just throwing out it out there) I do have the full confidence the camera will work.

Camera will work. Soon. G60 is determined and dorragaray is a camera know it all. I
Am certain it will work soon. Just not all the bells and whistles of a newer series device like one v. Still will work. Video will eventually work.

Well guys it's still slow going but the Camera is now talking a lot more. Dorregaray has been simply amazing in assisting me with all of this. With out all his hard work, and assistance we wouldn't be where we are right now. Here is the current logcat we have. As you can see the Camera is much more responsive in talking with Android. Once the Camera launches it's crashing the phone and causing a reboot, but like the turtle...Slow and Steady wins the Race!

Well guys it's still slow going but the Camera is now talking a lot more. Dorregaray has been simply amazing in assisting me with all of this. With out all his hard work, and assistance we wouldn't be where we are right now. Here is the current logcat we have. As you can see the Camera is much more responsive in talking with Android. Once the Camera launches it's crashing the phone and causing a reboot, but like the turtle...Slow and Steady wins the Race!

Yeah it's error by error but now that we are using his edited libcamera2 source for the Triumph it's easy to spit out the new lib file in less that 20 seconds as I don't need to build all the source code. I am not really sure what is left right now.
LOL actually he is still working on the source code on the TP. If you look at his github he pushed less than 9 hours ago. Also he maybe using some of TJ's hacks on the TP in the future as he saw some interesting code in TJ's camerhal. He is one hell of a developer that is all I can say!!!

Is the "ActivityThread.java" code you can see or is it the black box camera code? The last thing you see is a null reference exception generated in that file, in the following function/line:
ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2079)
If that code is not something you can see, since it is Java, can you use a decompiler to get an idea of what that function is doing?
Of course, don't know if what I am saying is of any help since I don't know anything about the code being used here.

Don't know if there's anything useful here, but I found this repo for camera-related drivers for the ZTE Blade (similar CPU/GPU, same camera - mt9p111). These drivers are oriented towards Video4Linux, but I think the low-level issues would, at least, be similar. Anyway, you might want to give it a look:

Don't know if there's anything useful here, but I found this repo for camera-related drivers for the ZTE Blade (similar CPU/GPU, same camera - mt9p111). These drivers are oriented towards Video4Linux, but I think the low-level issues would, at least, be similar. Anyway, you might want to give it a look:

Camera is still slow going. After much work and discussion Dorregaray and myself decided to roll back to the stock Froyo libs from our stock VM ROM. Right now the camera libs talk perfectly with Android but as soon and you launch the camera it forces a reboot. However the logs have gotten much cleaner and less errors than before. So again slow and steady wins the race.

Seriously thankful for all the work ALL the involved devs have done on this rom, and the roms before it. Last night I flashed MTDEV-cm7 so i could have a camera "nearby" with the holidays coming up. it seemed like an eternity for the notification drawer to sputter it's way down the screen. In that length of time I decided I'll just have a phone with no camera! so smooth. so fast. No knocks on cm7, it's just that cm9 makes it a whole new phone.
speaking of a new phone, a few months ago i saw a video on youtube where a girl peels the factory scratch cover off of her triumph. I hadn't known there was one on there, but there is, so i took it off a couple of months ago. I've gone commando ever since, with heavy use, and the gorilla glass works as advertised. not so much as a hairline, scuff or anything visible to the naked eye. i wouldn't go so far as to say it definitely improves touch sensitivity, but i like to think it does.
anyway, thanks to you all for your hard work.

Hey g60, im not trying to take advantage of something that isn't working yet, but i was wondering if, when the camera is done, you can include the android 4.2 camera in the build. It apparantly comes with that majestical photosphere thing that was shown off from the nexus 4. I know that all i have to do is flash it to my own personal phone, but including it in the build would be cool. You could also just include it, but also have the stock camera apk included along side it. Just a thought.
P.S. I've been running the 11/9 build as my main for some time and it is great, thanks for the hard work you've put in and the work you and Mtdev are currently doing to make this phone great. They shouldn't call it the Motorola Triumph... They should call it the Mtdev Triumph

I can tell you that the screen is scratchable. I was riding my bake home one day and hit some loose dirt that kicked out my back tire and made me drop my phone. At that time I only lost the factory cover. After that I have been naked and agree, the screen seems more responsive. On top of that, the screen feels smoother to me. I perfer it. But sence then, I have scratched the actual screen. I have heard that I can get a new one as it's gorilla glass, but I don't care to at this moment.

I have finally hit a brick wall with the code :banghead: My skills at C++ are just not solid enough to get us over the hump with the camera at this time. Also there has been so many changes in the code from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich in the kernel that I am not sure if that is not causing some of our problems or not?!? Dorregaray has been a humongous help, however I can not rely on him to write all the code out for the Triumph or expect him to solve our issues when does not own the device. Until we get some more people involved with the device that have a stronger level of C++ background we will not be able to solve the camera.
Also since I don't know anyone else in our community that is solid at C++, or has the time to program on the Triumph, I have decided I am going to stop developing all together, and use that time to learn C++. While it may not be the news everyone wants to hear this is where we are right now in this project. So again the race is not over, it's just going to be very slow and very steady like the :turtle: and hopefully we will win it!

Thank you G60 and all of you at MTDEV...I just recently hit a wall as well with the whole thing...I can't wait any longer for an updated os to work on here since the device itself has become somewhat obsolete... I have decided that at tax return time I will be leaving VM all together and will never buy anything from Motorola and or Google again...sadly all android is Google but I will not buy any Google nexus or Motorola products...I believe I'm going to go with Samsung products and possibly lg and see where that gets me...good luck with camera and all that good cluster@#$%...
