Root Usb otg

So I was playing around with USB OTG today, and I had something weird happen. I plugged in the cable with a mouse attached and the phone didn't recognize it. So I rebooted the phone and my rom wouldn't boot at all. I am running the latest HTCDEV CM10 and Anthrax 3.7. Any idea what would cause this? I restored an older backup and am too chicken to try USB OTG again.

I use it all the time without any problem. Most of the time with ButteredToast now but have used it with Anthrax as well.

What are you using for an OTG adapter?

I am using some generic OTG adapter from Amazon. I know it's good because it's my buddies and he uses if for his GS3

That's your problem.

The GS3 works differently from the Evo 3D. It can supply power to the device, which even flash drives use, and the Evo 3D requires an external power source so you need an OTG adapter that lets you hook up an A/C charger.
