I no lots of devs are not really trying to get 3d to word on camera on jb ROMs cause ppl don't care for the 3d but me I actually like it and would like it to run on jb so please don't just be like u wasting time or go back to ics. Yes I no 3d is a propwhatever driver. So has any body tried switching 3d on on the jmz 3d switch and the going to camera? I did it and it looks like that liquid parralx or whatever its called is on with the camera but I just woke up and my eyes might be messing with me. i assume you gotta get both cameras to cut on. So can any body point me in a direction or anything to start on trying to get 3d working

So you're on a CM10/AOKP and used JMZ's 3D switch? Or a Sense rom?

I'm on midnight jellybean and used the switch. I assume the parralax is only one part of the 3d the major thing is getting the camera but idk Im just trying stuff. Idk what to start on since when u switch the 3d there is no crashing so idk bout a log cat.

The entire camera apk and possibly some framework has to be re-written to account for the stereoscopic lenses. So it is in fact quite a daunting task for a DEV to undertake especially if it only is applicable to one device. Many of the upstream code fixes made for our phones can be applicable to a couple of other HTC devices sans the camera...
Not saying this to discourage.... but it is unlikely that we will ever see our 3D camera working on a AOSP ROM. I personally don't miss it too much cause i bought the phone for the Specs and not the camera.

davidmargolin sent me some links regarding the 3D code needed to make it happen and API calls. It's on the to do list to look at and see how much pain it will involve. However right now we don't even have a booting ROM after rolling back to the VM files over the Sprint library files. Chairshot and myself have been working on it for over a week with no success which means we may need to stick with the Sprint files until the actual VM kernel rolls from HTC.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, Premium Membership (paid, yellow name and badge) and recognised ROM Developer (free, pink-ish name, control of your own section here) are different things. I don't see a section with your name, or any posts by you in the custom ROMs section g60, so I'm presuming (and I could be wrong) that you were only a premium member.

If you would like inquire about getting your own section there, you should check out this thread: http://androidforums.com/custom-roms/159287-how-forum-works.html
