So, I want a recent tally of who has leaked and who is still waiting. Feel free to express your overall satisfaction with your decision.

Me: still waiting! I accept my phone the way it is. We have a good relationship. :D Kidding, kidding... don't go all "ewww that's creepy!" on me.

As I remember it, "every known" also said, with authority, that the Nexus One was going to be introduced with Verizon Wireless service on March 23rd, at CTIA. "They" were wrong.

I'm going to give it until the end of June. If 2.1 is not here by then, I'll think about rooting. Until then, 1.5 is working just fine for me.

2.1 may be the last major OS upgrade that the Eris gets but it will be sent OTA. Verizon is on their own schedule and they don't like to convenience folks so it may be tomorrow or it may be next month.

I like the 2.1 b leaked version...working good for me. Would like a bug fixed OTA but no longer freaking out over the when of getting it.

I've got the 2.1 v2. Not 100% pleased with the results, as I have the silent phone error (phone doesn't ring sometimes).

However, I am not gnashing my teeth bemoaning my decision to upgrade to the leak. The pro's far outweigh the con's in my opinion. And my one glitch will hopefully be fixed in the OTA upgrade, when it finally gets to us

I really really want to upgrade to the 2.1 leak, but I don't want to lock myself into it and possibly not be able to get the final version when it comes out. (I also thought about rooting, but I don't want to void my warranty or insurance.)

Still, I'll probably upgrade to the leak towards the end of May, cause my patience can only go so far.

the only good thing I got out of it really was the google nav. beyond that its a few customizations since I have root. plenty of bugs though, very disappointed that apps like astrid cannot access the net properly.

uhm missed another option 2.1-v2root and thats what I have. the plus side is I can go back to 1.5 and do the OTA when it comes out.

This. I waited and waited, but when I saw the chance to root, go for 2.1 *and* have the option to revert, I jumped. I've been enjoying 2.1 + Sense. The "Helicopter" home screen view should have been there from the start -- perhaps what I like most about 2.1, though the new apps I've been able to get (Tricorder is neato!) also helps.

why would anyone have stayed with the 2.1v1?
you already started the update, from 2.1v1 you still cant get root, you still will have the same problems trying to return it to verizon if they notice. theres no reason to stay on an obsolete version of the leak in this circumstance. you already took the first step and as of now, there is still no way of going back so why not make the most of it and go on to version 2?
