Not being able to find my printer on the network... setting up a printer should not be this hard, even in Linux.

HP is a PITA. The only good thing about the older printers is the carts last.
All of them will print pages and pages of gibberish for no reason, and they all want to phone home. If you install the software, seems you are stuck with it phoning - but if you install just the driver, it shuts up.

The Photoprinters are another pain with Photoshop. Have no problem with Canon. HP thinks it knows best.

I've actually THROWN 2 of the cheap printers out the door.

The Laser printers also don't like Adobe Illustrator. Takes them forever to print. I've waited almost 10 minutes for the big color laser at work to print from Illustrator.
In Linux, they don't like printing pages with text and graphics. I print out some banking pages, and it takes them forever!

Stabbing yourself in the hand to prove to your wife that, yes, its quite a sharp knife, and hitting a big vein causing a rediculous amount of blood :banghead:

Lol i dont kill things but i get why you hate them. In the dark they have a habit of suddenly dropping out of the air onto your face lol. An urban myth is that theyre highly venomous but i think the truth is that like any other arachnid, theyre venomous but their fangs are far too tiny to puncture your skin :) just catch it between your cupped hands and let it out the window. Itl give u a nice warm feeling inside :)

Maybe your arachnids over there aren't bad, but we have the Brown Recluse. It can cause severe damage with a bite. So can the Black Widow, but you can spot them.
The Brown Recluse likes to hide - so woodpiles, trash heaps are good places. Since we don't have too many outhouses any more, I think people are less aware of them.
They are shy, but you should know where they hang out and what to look for.

I swat Miller Moths. The damn things fly in your face. They fly like they are drunk to begin with. The suckers migrate. They hatch on the eastern plains and head for the mountains. I've seen them in the hundreds in one part of a building. They can cause fires by hiding in a recessed light.

House spiders do that, too. Since they usually stay out of the food, and don't bother you, we leave them alone. They are usually small.

The Vulcan hates spiders. We got a huge wolf spider in a motel room, and he went batsh*t. We also get migrating tarantulas. I've seen them at our altitude, but farther south. The way things are going, we might get them here.

You are lucky, then. We have a rather large herd of mule deer. The buggers host the ticks that carry Rocky Mountain Spotted fever, and if it bites, it bites the Vulcan. The mosquitos carry West Nile.

No wolves, sometimes a bear, coyotes, foxes - have had mountain lions spotted here and there. I suppose with that herd of deer - we would get predators.

Coyotes are getting to be a problem. We had 2 kids bitten. The Coyotes had mange.
I've seen mangy ones here, and mangy foxes.

We didn't have the deer when we first moved here. We had rabbits. As the area got developed, the deer are almost urban now. I'm tired of deer poop in the yard. I've fixed the feeders and the bird bath so the deer can't use them. You are not supposed to feed the wildlife except birds.
