So if I decide to cancel on the ninth I just call and then pick it up in store when released?

I'm not on VZW,so, I can't speak for their order/shipping fulfillment.

However,w/T-Mobile, I called to cancel my pre-order 48hrs & again 24hrs prior to launch/ship date, as I heard/seen no movement/change in status.

I proceeded to pick the phone up opening day @ a corporate T-MOBILE store, overheard the entire transaction w/Customer Care, to ensure that a 2nd phone wouldn't arrive.

At 1st appearances, all was well, phone in hand, pre-order disappeared from the website, only to get a text alert 5 hrs later to update the pre-order.
They (T-MOBILE) sent me a 2nd phone anyway.

I hope such isn't commonplace w/VZW, but,if you can't risk having two phones charged to your bank/checking/credit card, I'd just sit tight & wait for the pre-order to arrive.

The 2nd phone is already back w/T-Mobile, but, it may take 7-10 days before my account gets credited w/the funds.

Again, hopefully VZW Customer Care is better than this, but, I've learned my lesson, no more pre-orders, it can wait a couple days.

I wish I would have canceled the pre order when my gut told me to: yesterday morning.

I'd have been able to waltz into the store in the morning and walked out a happy little boy.

Now I'm playing hooky from work that morning to go pick up my Note 10.1 from best buy. While my little beast baby is on a Fedex truck somewhere.

Oh well. Maybe I will go catch an early movie. I hear "Gravity" is good, especially in 3D.

In the future when they ask your shipping address tell them it is shipping to a business. It doesn't matter if its a business or not all it changes is when they will deliver it.

Like most everyone, my estimated time of delivery is by 8 o'clock. If it is close to 8 then no problem, I'll be home. If it comes earlier, I'm still at work...I get no phone, just a sticker saying they tried to deliver it. So, I won't get it until Friday.
If I change delivery to my school because I think it will deliver before 5...and it doesn't, then I'm equally as screwed.
Any advice. I did call Fed ex and the only advice they gave me was to leave it for my home address, sign the sticker and let them leave it at my door Friday (since I signed the waiver)

You might be able to get it earlier if you change the address. I'm having it shipped to my office and since it is a business, they're telling me Thursday by 4:30pm.

Or maybe ask them to hold it at a FedEx location and pick it up on your way home?

Historically for me, if I am not home for a Fedex delivery I leave a signed note asking them to leave the package and they always have without issue. I leave the note in the door addressed to Fedex.

Possibly getting them to change the address to my place of business might be the better option because the Fed ex location is like an hour away in a not so super location.

Thats why it's good to get to know your driver. I have all the numbers to all my UPS and FEDX guys. My driver will call me Thursday morning while he's loading up, to meet me first on his route. I never have to wait. If I don't call him he calls me. Will even sign for me if not able to meet him.

Also I am getting the phone from my wife's upgrade and using it on my Vzw unlimited plan. After enabling the phone on her account will I be able to enable the phone and sim card on my account without a problem with the sim card?

I only have until Friday to return the droid I bought for a note 3, or I'm stuck with what I got.

Think so? I live in a relatively small town so I'm not worried about people rushing the store. I'm just worried they will not carry any in stock except for those exact people who pre ordered. Really hoping as it's my last day to switch out phones.

I was in Texas and rerouted a delivery a day before it was to be delivered to my FL address and it worked. I would sign up for it and see worse case scenario you'll know where it is so nothing to lose.

I'm not sure you actually have to activate it on her acct. You might hit a pickle with this since the iphone (I'm assuming you have the 4 or 4S) is only 3g it may be a different SIM.

My phone does not use a sim card. I have never used a sim card in my life.
From what I have read it is no problem going from 3g to 4g in unlimited plans.
I have also read that the contract renewal actually goes into effect the moment
The phone is enabled and it goes under which account enables it. So If I called it in first under my account I would lose my unlimited.
