Action memo doesn't stay pinned

Maybe I'm missing something. I create an action memo and then click the little square thing that makes it a tiny square that is always on top.

However if I create another action memo or open the action memo app, the pinned note is no longer pinned.

This isn't really helpful. And none of the sticky note apps and widgets seem to handle handwriting.

What gives?

those don't address my question. as i said in my question, i am talking about a when a note is made into the tiny square.

i have looked through that entire thread, searched the forum, and used the ol' googles before i posted here.

the three links you linked to were discussing keeping the action memo open and full size. this is not my question.

Ok, now i understand better what you want to do.

Just to be sure I'm getting it, you are trying to create multiple action memos and have them stay minimized? Is that correct?

I'm not sure if that can be done, but can you specify what you are trying to accomplish with that function? That way, maybe we could advise you on an alternate method.

Thanks for trying to help.
Actually I just want the one I created and pinned to stay where it is even if I open the action memo app again, maybe to look at another memo. I thought making it small and pinning was to act like a sticky note?

They created it for the purposes of being able to re-visit the note, say while on a phone call (using the link to action).

If you open the action memo app first, and then re-open and minimize the memo you created, that's possible, but if you go to open the action memo app from the minimized memo, that is the only thing that closes it.

Yes, to a certain extent, making it small is like a sticky note, but most people wouldn't use it to just go back and open up the entire action memo app again.

I use this all the time, when needing to write down a number, minimize the memo, go to my phone call screen, and then use the link to action function. Works brilliantly, so I don't have to hold down the home button to get to the "recent apps screen, re-open action memo, re-open the memo...I'm sure you get the idea. With the minimizing tool, that's the time that I use it the most. The other times I've used it (but not quite as often) is when someone is giving me an email address or website to write down.

That's why I was asking what exactly you're trying to accomplish because, if you minimize an action memo, but are going into the action memo app again, what exactly would you be doing to have the need for the minimized memo to stay on top, when going into the action memo app. Seems a little odd to me, so I'm trying to get an idea of what function that would serve.

So let's say I wanted to remember to do something. Creating an action memo that stays on top of all screens will remind me. Like a sticky until I can get back to it.

I was just trying to use one note like you would a post it. I'm not sure if opening the app is what cause it to disappear, but they do not stay.
I'm not trying to use it as a full blown reminder system. I just liked being able to create it quickly, use handwriting, and not have to make an alarm or anything to remind me later - it would be right there.
I just know I had to keep going back to the app bc it would disappear from my screen.

I know I can make it a task from the actions but that's extra steps. I just want to scribble and pin.

When you create an action memo, then minimize it, it should stay stickied on all apps with exception to the actual action memo app itself.

That is what confused me because if i were to open the full action memo app, the single minimized action memo that i created wouldn't matter anymore because I would see it amongst all the other memos created.

The only other way the minimized memo goes away (after minimizing) is if u open the minimized memo and save or close, but if you continue to hit minimize it will go back to minimizing and stay on top of other apps you use.

I just did it now with tapatalk and phone.

I think I'm just trying to use in a slightly different way than intended. But at least I understand how it works now.

Thanks again!

I re-read your last reply and I think I understand better.

You want the minimized action memo to stay on top of whatever screen you go into, for as long as you want it there, correct?

If that's the case, I can't say if it would stay on top of media apps like Netflix and others.

I think the minimize feature was more intended for quick transfer of information (e.g. write down phone number, minimize, link action to call person...or...write down contact info, minimize, link action to create contact or task).

I really hadn't thought of creating a memo that'll stay on top of every screen I go to (just minimized). Thing is, to go quickly back and forth between all my memos and whatever app I'm in, the "last app" screen is something I use a lot. Rather than having to go completely out of the app, open the app drawer, etc...that's the beauty I love about android. There are multiple ways of getting back to an app quickly, which is something I didn't like much with the iPhone. Having the "last app" feature, as well as multi-window, has made it much easier for me not to forget things.

Now, for me personally, when I need to remember something that isn't necessarily happening within a few minutes, I just use action memo to create a task and set a reminder...or I create a calendar event with a reminder.

Action memo is just for very quick reminders. My favorite function is using it to pick up groceries. Saves me the hassle of having to call people to find out if I forgot anything or using a post-it.
