Root Optimus Elite root with an apk

I can get root with poot and the old superuser. But I cannot get SuperSU to work or clockworkmod SUperUser
Clockwork mod app says
There was an error installing superuser. Please send a log of the error to the developer

Titainium backup says busybox works but the su command does not elevate to root. there is somethng wrong with your su binary or superuse app

Okay... Issues, issues. I downloaded Ministro II and installed it with no problem. Got Poot-Debug and installed it no problem. Went to run it and received an error that "Your application has run into a fatal error and cannot continue" on my LG LS670 (Sprint LG Optimus S) I tried rebooting but all I get is that same error when I try to open Poot. Tried uninstalling, booting to recovery and clearing cache, rebooting, reinstalling and trying again, but I still get only that error and no helpful information.
I get that error as well, Sprint LG Optimus S 670 ZVJ (Android 2.3.3). Also I've seen "Ministro can not satisfy your application dependencies". I'm using the Ministro II from the google play store. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both that and poot several times.

I ended up using this guide instead. It requires downgrading first. The thread has a working alternate download link to the automated root tool for the Optimus S.

[HOW-TO] Root stock ZVJ by downgrading to ZVH. - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

:EDIT Spoke too soon, decided to go ahead and try downloading one of the suggested browsers in a comment and it worked fine and rooted, thank you so much for this post,Ive seen alot of root guides that made me cringe to think I would have to do all these things to my phone. Life saver!

TO be considerate and not be one of those guys who ask or calls out a problem when it was already stated,I only saw one other person and was prompted to use other browsers, but Im confused on this part because mine came with google and never had issues with it or downloading things,I have "Unknown Sources" checked also to that wouldn't cause problems, but I cant get it to open up,Ive been trying to root my phone so I could get my text messages back from when my phone randomly deleted ALL of them the other night and been driving myself crazy.

uhm i dont think thats an error - that message means you already are rooted (the existence of an su binary in /system/xbin means root). Install Superuser from the market to complete the process.

i was getting error 22 for the exact same reason. i rooted it and it wouldnt get past recovery so i flashed it with the lg un-softbrick tool thing and it didnt remove root apparently lol nice catch man!

So, I've tired all your links to download poot but all I get is the poot-debug file. Is there a link to poot.apk that works? I have a huawei m865c that i want to root. If i can't get the poot.apk file does anybody have any other ideas?

You can't use the Elite's method of rooting since it uses different exploits than the m865c, head here for the rooting methods for your phone.

Also, poot-debug.apk is the correct apk file to use for rooting the ELITE, not the Huawei m865c

Rooting was a breeze, this was my third phone that I've rooted (previously did my Motorola Triumph and Kyocera Rise), and this was by far the easiest, even easier than the Kyocera, which also used the Poot/Ministro method.

Although the Elite isn't my main phone (I use a Moto G for that), this is my newest toy to play with. Now I'm going to try and install a new ROM, which is a bit more difficult than my previous roots so far.
