Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] LS720ZV7 update killed my root ... Optimus LG F3

What superuser app and busybox installer did you choose? It might make a difference, idk. I used SuperSU and Busybox Installer by Stephen (Stericson). Make sure you run SuperSU app at least once so it can update the binaries it needs. And I'm assuming you ran the busybox installer app and installed version 1.22.1. Is this correct.

Okay, I see. Well this is all still new with rooting after the v7 update. Towel Root is the only one that I know works for those who have tested it so far. Not all droids are created equal I'm afraid. If another exploit is found to work it'll be posted here on AF so your in the right place. Sorry I couldn't be of more help at this point.

You probably will have to factory reset to get it to work, possibly might have to unbrick as well. You can always downgrade as well :p
LG may force the update, but if OTAs are disabled (via root), update won't happen. Also, can someone tell me the android version before and after the V7 update? If it upgrades to kitkat, bye bye loki.

No upgrade, just an update. Version is still 4.1.2

So for the first run, it installed and when I ran rootchecker, it said the phone was rooted. I rebooted and rootchecker said it's not rooted. I ran towelroot again, it rebooted and then again rootchecker said not rooted.

I did a full system reset, then rooted with towelroot. It automatically rebooted. I installed rootchecker and it said it is rooted. I then installed supersu and busybox.

Probably try again and see if it works.
