so iv got my phone rooted and am running the echoe rom that converts s4 into an s5. i have found that there is a slim version on my echo rom creations app but when i tried to download it it is a php file instead of a .zip. whats going on here?

so basicly i am looking for the slim version of the echoe rom ( i really like the s5 conversion so i wonder if there is a slim version of that? i really like the idea of not having all the bloatware on my phone without having to actualy delete it myself and possibly screwing up my phone. any suggestions?
i am running a galaxy s4 SGH I337 CANADIAN Echoe/S4_Echoev32_1_S5PORT_PARTVII_210914

AND MY RECOVERY IS TWRP

thank you guys in advance :)

Hi mariag461! :)

Ignore them. They're just jealous. It is my pleasure to try and help a lady as opposed to the rough chaps that frequent these forums.

Unfortunately, I no longer own a Galaxy S4 and therefore my knowlede is 3 or 4 months out of date. I do remember a Slim Echoe ROM but I think that that was on the Android 4.3 build, here.

The S5 port, AFAIK, is a full ROM and you would need to de-bloat it manually...

Bloatware removal - Dummies Guide

There are other Android 4.4.4 ROMs that are sans bloatware, notably the Google Edition ROM's...

Google Play Edition 【KTU84P】by Danvdh (a Canadian (he does a Canadian variant))

Alternatively, there is the world renowned CyanogenMod ROM which is completely de-bloated and on Android 4.4.4...

Other than that, I am stuck for recommendations.

mariag461 used to be indecisive... now she's not so sure. :)

Did you copy the backup back into the original CWM/TWRP backup folder or just to the root of the SDcard. If it is not in the correct backup folder your Restore will not show it in Recovery > Restore unless you hunt for it.

untili hear from you in the morning

Typical! "Will I hear from you in the morning?", "Your phone number's 012345678910, that's really cool" and "John F Kennedy is really your name, sounds familiar". ;)

I think .... I just copied it to my downloads folder on my sd card? When I tried to copy it back to my international storage it gave me an error code and wouldn't let me move it

Top Tip Always save your backups to your external SD card.

Change the settings in whichever custom recovery you have, (PhilZ, CWM or TWRP), so that your backups are saved to external rather than clogging up your internal SD memory. You could then do a backup of your existing ROM and once you have established where that is saved, you can use something like Root Explorer to move the backup you want from Downloads to the new file location.

Thanks for the top tip! lol yup definalty not going to save bakups on the pc anymore. ok so i checked twrp settings through twrp manager and it says storage info: external sd storage location. so im guessing it saves it to the sd card. i think when i originaly made the bakup, i didnt have the card yet. sorry for all spelling mistakes haha its hard to type fast with fake nails haha
