It's not a conspiracy theory, it's supply and demand economics 101.
If only the world operated as simply as theories in economics class. They assume no additional influences.

Nothing like companies colluding to price fix (LOL panel manufacturers anyone) or oil rigs or refineries being taken down for "routine" maintenance at the beginning of peak demand...

Unfortunately "conspiracies" exist.

They're still doing supply/demand

The detail people arent noticing is that the carriers are the main demand, and therefore are getting the main supply.

Google should be more open though, as speculation by tech blogs about OTA's, release date, availability, ect are making expectations for consumers that google never planned on meeting.

Lets put down the anti-google pitchforks, its a part of every nexus season :)

I agree, the carriers are probably going to be well stocked. At least I hope so. I want to buy one from At&t without all the drama of the pre-order fiasco.

They can call it whatever they want. It is still getting it before the others.

I gotta disagree with you here. Google, samsung, htc, ect are all obviously doing their very own testing right now too. The only difference is motorolas beta testers are slightly more public.

I like that they do that, but if you're going to say they got to 5.0 first with beta builds google beat them by about 5 months with preview builds ;).

Moto may very well beat some of the nexus line to official 5.0, but that hasn't happened yet

Looks like LG is rolling out lollipop for the G3 in Poland this upcoming week... (from Android police)
While it is good for Android in general, I bet there will be a lot of disappointed nexus users.
What's there to be disappointed about?

Hasn't one of the biggest complaints on android been how slow manufacturers are to get out updates? Its clear Moto started a fire under their butts with how fast last years x got updates. Its also possible google has been giving OEM's increased early access to get it out quicker.

On the whole that's a good thing. ;)

Nexus owners still have open source roms, googles amazing support, and the ability to root/unlock without worrying about voiding a warranty.

If they're buying a nexus just for fast updates, they're still going to be fast. If theyre buying them to be guaranteed to have it months before everyone else - well that's changing.

Sorry, I should have been clearer... I agree that it is a good thing for the android platform.. OEMs getting their devices updated quickly is a win win.

I was referring to how many people are "upset" that motorola is doing a soak test for their phone and the nexus devices don't have that yet - hearing about another device getting updated before the nexus was likely to make their reaction stronger :)

No problem, I knew what you meant ;) I didnt intend that as a direct response to you, but more of a response to those that are disappointed.

I have been checking on my play store order from time to time and now on the screen that used to say 2-3 weeks now says BY Nov 21st. The other screen still says ON Nov 21st but it does give me hope that it will ship before then.

Yeah, but this year is a bit bizarre in many respects. Limited play store stock, lollipop coming to LG and Moto phones before the Nexus is even available on 11/12. Possibly T-Mobile having the N6 before play store and moto orders even ship, etc. I'm planning on shipping 11/21 and receiving after Thanksgiving (I picked ground). Any time before that will be a nice surprise, but I'm planning on shipment 11/21 :)

Yea. Not planning on it but it does give a little bit of hope that they might ship earlier.
