Hi, newbie to Samsung here...

I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo (SM-G903F) via a 3rd party seller and it came with EE sim.
Unfortunately as it is running stock BTU firmware (5.1.1) I cannot take advantage of EE Wi-Fi calling.
However, I've been told I can take EE firmware and flash using Odin.

I've flashed other phones and Nexus devices before, but never Samsung.

I understand Samsung uses something called a knox counter to tell if phone has been flashed and this invalidates warranty.
Is this true of stock roms or just custom roms.... i.e. if i flashed with stock EE 5.1.1 rom will my warranty still be ok?

Thanks.

Hi...3 days and no replies

My question is simply...if I were to replace existing firmware with another stock firmware (not modded or rooted) then would this trip Knox and invalidate my phone's warranty?

No, it would not trip the Knox security flag. It would however, potentially invalidate your warranty and prevent OTA and Kies updates. See #1.11 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

Thanks for the answer.
Sorry for another question but if I was to try EE firmware but then changed back to stock BTU and Knox not tripped my warranty would be intact?
