Help How to disable this mystery mp3 playing app? (screenshot)

When I click an mp3 from either Downloads manager, or from OI File Manager, then the mp3 player that pops up is this one (screenshot attached)

I want to change the default mp3 player app to something else, but I can't find this app in my 'settings/Apps' to do that. It doesn't seem to be Google Play Music. When I go to Settings/Apps/Google Play Music/Opens by Default/ it says:

Open supported links: ask every time
Supported links: Open music.google.com and related URLs
Other defaults: No defaults set

It also isn't OI File Manager itself. I don't have any other music/mp3 related apps installed (except the brand new app I just installed, that I want to use as default instead of whatever the above screenshot is.)

Does anyone have any ideas what I should try? Thanks.

I could try deleting the 'open' prefs for every app I have installed, but, yuck.

This is on a Moto G 2nd gen running Android 6.0.

Are you sure that's not the music player for the OI file manager. T
Try long pressing on a mp3 select other then music then pick your player.

Thanks for the reply.

I looked in the settings for OI File Manager, it didn't have any filetypes to open set.

In OI, long press selects the file, then the vertical '...' menu has 'More', which leads to a menu of:
* Google Play Music
* OI File Manager
* ...some other irrelevant things

Selecting OI file manager produces a blank OI window.
Selecting Google Play Music launches the dreaded mystery mp3 player.

So maybe it is google play music after all?

...and if I NOW try the "long press" procedure suggested above by Bg260, the "Other" menu no longer contains an entry for "Google Play Music", nor for anything else related to music or mp3 playing.

Let me try installing a 3rd mp3 player, just in case Smart Audiobook Player has some problem registering as able to play mp3 files...

...yep, this solves it. A different mp3 player app (MortPlayer Audio Books) DOES add an entry to the OI File Manager "long press" menu, and after using that, mp3s open using MortPlayer no matter where they are clicked on from OI or from Downloads manager.

I tried resinstalling Smart Audiobook Player but that didn't help. Using MortPlayer all is ok.

Good deal. Glad it worked for you! :)
Google likes to consider itself the default app when ever given the chance.
