What does this button do?

With Pop-up View Gesture activated, what does the first button do on the toolbar that appears above the app window? It is a picture of two windows with a pointing finger. When I tap it, nothing seems to happen.

Just means you can moce the window around.

I just tried it with Gmail and Chrome and it said it wasn't supported :-\

Are you sure that its just not the way you switch back and forth between 2 running and open apps? My LG Stylo has something similar?

Yeah, my guess was something to do with split screen view.
