Sudroid Discovery V8 update help

This is some offbrand phone. I need some help finding out exactly what base of the system is so I could use a nanobackup safely on it. I want to try to update the system but yeah....

What is a nanobackup? I'm guessing you mean a nandroid backup?

To take a nandroid backup, you need a custom recovery and if it's an off brand device, is there a custom recovery available?

Yes yeah I meant the nandroid backup. also that's what I am trying to find out. if there is a custom recovery available for said device. I just wanted to know if there was away to figure that out.

the baseboot is "moly.wr8.w1315.md.wg.mp.v43" If that means anything.

weird, alright. opening it up just says its an android v8. bleh alwell. hope maybe some time someone one might have recommendations or the like :<

HEY found something to run as a test on the jap/chinese phones.
http://mobilespecs.net/phone/codes/Land-Rover/Land_Rover_Discovery_V8.html
check the code area. just try some the ones that will not harm the phone. like for example the IMEI one.
I thought this was smart. idk if these codes work on all smartphones that are android or will pull up the same functions.
anyway way to find out what model it was. o3o so its some old model called a land rover Discovery v8 or atlest what they are based on.
