Hey All,

Picked up my HTC EVO on the 4th, and had Sprint order me the HDMI cable. Came last night. Tried to hook it up to my 37" 08' Samsung LCD HDTV, but was only getting AUDIO through to the TV, no VIDEO???

I tried all three HDMI outlets on my LCD HDTV but got the same result on each one?

Anyone know whats going on here? Anyone else experience this? Anyone have success trying to do what I was trying to do?

Thanks

What are you trying to watch? It only works with picture slideshows, videos, and the youtube app.

Pictures & Videos??? You mean like that I shoot & record with the EVO? (Have not tried this)

I tried going to youtube and watching a video from there, no luck though, just audio to the TV, do I need the youtube app. in order to watch youtube videos via the HDMI cord from my EVO to the HDTV?

Thanks

yes, thats basically what the hdmi feature was designed for. the youtube is just an extra add on.

yes, it has to be done from the youtube app to be outputting hdmi. i dont know why you wouldnt use the app, the web interface isnt that good.

Its very spotty guys. I have a cable I bought from the sprint store and it works when it feels like working.

Plus when I do get it to view movies it cuts out intermittently and goes back thru the phone and the only way to get the phone to recognize the hdmi is to reboot.

Such a freaking pain. They need to update that with a patch to the fw.

It appears that the TV may play a role here.. I actually HDMI out streamed movies from a website, streamed porn from an app, YouTube, downloaded movies, and more. Would still love to stream some web based flash though.

Panasonic 50" Plasma TC-P50C2 (Nice inexpensive 720P Plasma TV) You can get this TV for around $700
