HTC DROID Incredible to be updated to Froyo end of July, early August

Totally agree. It is frustrating for people to use the forum for what it was intended for when rumors and speculation run rampant within and the casual phone user starts to believe all of it and gets caught up in that mess. Just my opinion.

Lets see how long it takes before people not seeing the Froyo update coming soon enough turn into a "VZW forgot about Incredible which solidifies the fact that they're phasing it out!"

Let me add fuel to the fire.

I emailed Verizon Customer Service about my phone asking when the updates would come out. I also emailed HTC.

HTC has replied, I replied, then they replied again. Their reply was about many things but they said they couldn't comment on when any updates would come out.

Verizon has yet to reply.

My only conclusion is that the update is coming out right now and I will have Gingerbread, video calling for free, wifi tethering for free, 5G, bluetooth voice dialing, and super HD video with 200 fps.

I will let you know in 5 minutes when my phone is updated and all these great features plus bread toasting is ready to use.

Had a CSR tell me (about an hour ago) that they expect 2.2 to be out by the end of the month. Of course this CSR didn't know what Google Voice was and kept calling it "Google Voicemail" so ... :rolleyes:

News Flash:

Front line CSR's don't know about planned but unannounced upgrades. This is not limited to VZW.

They will tell you something positive to get you off the phone. At best, they are guessing. Playing CSR roulette and getting a different answer each time is proof of this since they work off of the same knowledge base.

If any here had large business experience, you would understand how information flows through the layers of an organization. You don't tell your front line folks something that you have not acknowledged in public while hoping to keep it under wraps.
