Same situation happeed to my mom when she went it to renew both her's and my dad's account for another two years. The verizon rep, as my mom put it, was incredibly rude and she ended up walking out of the store. She was on the verge of cancelling both accounts so I ended up ordering online for her. I told her if she gets a survey she should relay what occured.

personally, i dont understand why people go into the stores in the first place. EVERYTHING having to do with your account can be done online. and, warranty issues can be handled via phone. not only that, but online rebates are instant. if you arent capable of activating your phone/transferring contacts yourself, expect to pay $100 more out of pocket to get that help. you'll just have to wait a couple weeks to get that $100 back. personally, i've always steered clear of going into the stores at all costs.

WTF i ordered mine the 7th too, if i don't get my tracking number before 12 am tonight. I'm gonna go ape shit on the verizon cs rep to get my damn tracking number.(Getting Tired of waiting :():(

Boo hoo.

When was your expected ship date?

Since I ordered about that time, it was probably an expected ship date around the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, something like that.

They gave you an expected ship date. That's when you should expect your phone. Earlier than that is a bonus.

All of the entitlement in this thread is really sad. You aren't entitled to anything but what Verizon told you that you'd get. Anything else is simply an unexpected benefit.

Some people like to deal with others in person and not over the phone or online.

I usually do most of my Verizon business over the phone or online and only go to the store if there is a warranty issue with my phone or if my early upgrade is in store only.

I ordered mine today (the 15th) and I received my FedEx tracking number tonight! They said it should ship by the 17th!
It seems pretty clear from all the other posts here that the Droid X is currently running 7-9 days until shipping and 9-11 days until receipt. It also seems apparent that there are many who ordered before today and have not received any shipping notice. I personally ordered a Droid X and a Droid 2 at the same time on the morning of 8/11, the Droid 2 and accessories shipped that same day and were received the following day. The order confirmation that included the shipping confirmation for the D2 provided an 8/26 shipping date for the Droid X and the related accessories and there has been no further information received.

If you are getting a Droid X shipped in two days then you are very lucky, but you might want to verify that the shipping notice received is for the phone and that it is for a Droid X.

If you look at this related thread, http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-x/144266-how-long-do-you-think-shipment.html, it seems that there may have indeed been a recent influx of devices to be shipped. It also seems that everyone else posting who ordered in the last week has not yet received any shipping notification and that most people receiving shipping notices in the last couple of days for the Droid X are receiving them around 7-9 days after ordering. And the VZW web site is currently showing "Will be shipped by 8/31" for the Droid X.

Maybe NOVAdroid2151 is lucky and I hope that is the case, but they might also want to make sure that something didn't happen like the order being entered as a Droid 2, which apparently have no delays, rather than a Droid X.

Agreed. The only time I ever go into a store is to get some hands on experience with a phone.

As far as Verizon is concerned I now do everything over the phone or online because the store employees aren't usually all that helpful, however I would prefer going to a store if they were. When I was with T-Mobile I'd always go to stores. They were just as if not more helpful than over the phone plus I wouldn't need to wait for anything to ship, I'd walk out new phone in hand.

You're so lucky! My order was processed on the 10th and I'm still waiting, sadly.

As for Verizon... I also don't go into the store unless I want to check out new phones lol In my experience the employees have been on the stupid and rude side. However, the last time I went in a really nice guy helped me out. I wanted to look at the Incredible but it was locked so he whipped out his own. It was awkward but considerate lol

We have two stores almost within feet of each other in my area, and having been to both, I find the service to be hit and miss, with a bit more consistency at one store over the other. There also seems to be less turnover at one store (the one where I typically get better service) versus the other, which may be a contributing factor.

+1
I ordered on the 7th also, and as much as I want the phone to get here, I don't have anything to be pissed about until two days after the 25th if I don't have the phone. And really, since this phone is for my husband and not me, I have no idea why I'm so eager to get it in the first place.

I hope you are not right about it being a Droid 2 and not the Droid X!! my invoice and confirmation shows it is a Droid X but now I am nervous!!

as an employee of verizon wireless (not in retail store), i apologize for his behavior. no customer should ever be treated like that. i know it happens. after all, employees are only human. but, that's no excuse. i am really happy to hear that your phone is already shipping, though! welcome to the club. i'm sure you'll love it.

Sund0wn -
Thanks, I know everyone every now and then has a bad day as well as some people are always out to get the 'best' of people. I appreciate your comments. I am excited to get my phone in the mail and ready to upgrade my plan to start receiving discounts. I almost hope to see that employee working and have him upgrade it for me!!

To me, this thread feels like a support group lol Somewhere us impatient, anxious people can freak out together, attempt to analyze Verizon's shipping methods, and share whatever information we deem relevant to our cause (AKA getting our phones as soon as humanly possible).

Not that we can actually speed up the deliveries. But when someone is suffering like you are, you don't feel as bad. And when someone gets their phone quickly, okay, at first you do feel bad, but then you have hope that yours will come soon too.

That's how I see it, anyway. Admittedly, some of us are a little crazier than others :p

It appears the West Coast has been fed! I called this AM and they had a tracking number in the system. I ordered on the 4th. A follow up call had informed me that my phone would be coming out of the San Diego facility. I live in AZ. I had also been told that the SD facility had shipped everything they had quicker than expected - hence the back order. Apparently the stock has been replenished.

I never received a tracking email - but did receive my order confirm etc. so I am in the system.

Delivery by 3pm today. Woo Woo.
