Accessories Which screen protectors is everyone useing!?

Couple of questions. Regardless of what the advert says, how hard is it to put on perfectly as I am very picky about these things? Second, how much does it affect the responsiveness of both the screen and the bottom buttons?

It was pretty easy to put on. I got it on my first try. The screen and bottom button are pretty responsiveness. I have not yet encounter any problems as of yet.

Let us know if there is any rainbow effect or if it changes the look of the screen colors. I ask because I once used an anti-glare screen on my old iPhone and will never do that again as it made the screen look horrible.

I have the Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint for my iphone 3G. It is very good and does significantly minimize fingerprints and glare. But, there is definitely a reduction in clarity of the screen. It is much better than most other "anti-fingerprint" screen protectors, but it is noticeable. I kept it on my iphone because of the reduction of glare, but the Captivate screen is much less susceptible to glare and is sooo nice I am going to use a clear protector for it.

I seriously can't decide what protector to get. Any advice?
Crosseyed~ I did drop my captivate from about 3 feet onto concrete. It scuffed up the plastic little and there is a tiny tiny crack on the screen in the bottom right corner, but nothing horrible. So, far, four weeks in without a protector the screen doesn't have a scratch on it.

I am actually taking my captivate back to BB today because of a 1/8" vertical scratch down the middle left of the screen. I have only had it for a couple days, and I'm ridiculously careful with my toys. I have a feeling it was there from the start. I've had an iphone since day 1 and never used a screen protector. I REALLY hope I don't have to start now, as I've never seen one that didn't distort the screen image or collect dust and end up scratching the screen by itself...

In my opinion you can't beat this package deal:

1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220653712481&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:US:1123

I received mine the other day and it includes 5 screen protectors, 2 extra batteries and a charger, car charger, extra USB cable plus some other goodies for $32. Ships from Hong Kong but it only took 8 days. I got the link from someone else on here.

I hadn't realized SGP made products for cell phones - I've got their skins on a laptop (a dell mini 10v) and not only were they easy to install, but they look fab.

After watching videos elsewhere, I decided to pick up the Anti-Fingerprint version of their screen protector.

I'll come back here and review it once I have it on and such.

Got this and put it on today.

Pros - There are no finger prints even close to visible on my screen now. It's static (versus wet) installation, so it's a relatively painless process.

Cons - The anti-finger print unfortunately does take away from the vividness of the screen. I watched a youtube video I've watched several times previous (Eminem/Rihanna - "Love the Way You Lie") and there was a noticable difference.

If you're hellbent on having no finger prints and don't mind giving up some of the vividness of your screen, this is your option. But it's bothering me more than I thought it would (maybe it'll grow on me?). Still, I'm leaving it on the phone, and I'm not yet going to make a move to buy their other version (the crystal clear).

Im on the opposite side of you, I got the crystal clear protector. Same painless static installation and true crystal clarity like they advertise. The screen looks just like the original glass and feels a little bit better (imo). However its just a magnet for fingerprints and finger grease, even more so than naked glass. After about a half of a week of use with the protector on, I had to take some rubbing alcohol to it for a good 5 minutes to get the screen clean again. With the naked glass I could clean it just by rubbing it on my shirt.

It causes problems because the unlock pattern is clearly visible on my screen after I put it in, and if there is something white on the screen (like the browser) you see some 'rainbow' effect (like when you would have water on a CRT monitor).

Its too bad the anti fingerprint reduces the clarity, because that was my other option.

It's not so much a reduction of clarity as it takes away some of the vividness. It's starting to grow on me...and I really do love the lack of fingerprints.

I bought an invisible shield kit and they were out of stock but didn't bother telling me. It took awhile to get to me but finally did. I put it on, but the screen protector is tacky making it hard to use swype.
The other pieces are peeling off already. I would get a replacement but it's only been a couple weeks, I don't think I should have to pay shipping to replace something that didn't work as advertised.
I'm thinking of getting the Steinhall I think it's called or a Phantomskinz.

Well I'm using the AT&T Protector now, the wife got one & she keeps her phone in her purse. So with it being stored their without a full hard case, I had to get one, so got a set with the phone, put one on her phone, had 2 spares, so one went on my phone. No rainbow effects that I can see, same smudges as before (but I don't stress as much about scratching it if I just use a cloth vs a microfiber cloth :) )

Just put on a SGP Steinheil protection film. It feels very close to having bare glass. There is a slight increase in friction compared to glass, but it's very good overall. The thickness might have made the four bottom buttons a little less responsive though. Touch screen is normal. Except for the edges and where I got two pieces of dust trapped, I can't tell there is anything on it. No orange peel look and it's very clear.

I'm using a mirror screen protector that's made for the iPod Touch. I have it on there upside-down (circle above the AT&T logo). It looks pretty funny, as people initially think I'm holding an iPod or iPhone upside-down. It has a reflective surface when the screen is off, thus doubling as an excellent mirror.

Also has an interesting rainbow effect to the screen when seen at different angles with certain conditions.

Best of all, cheapest you'd find anywhere. I have 15 of them for $1.25. It cost me more to have them shipped (US mail) than for the screen protectors themselves.

I should mention that I have used only one so far (of the screen protectors) and it went on right after unboxing the phone. That was July 29th. I've had the one on the iPod Touch for alot longer. Both are still going strong.
