xScope, a multitouch pinch zoom browser

9/30
1. Fixed 'Find Text' dialog. Have to put app as windowed again to circumvent froyo's bug.
2. Fixed 'BACK causing force close' bug. It affects only android 2.1 users
3. Tweetdeck scheme is supported
4. Temp. removed Restore/Star Fresh dialog. Restore by default now
5. If downloaded file is an APK file, it will pops up a dialog for user to select 'Open'.

Can someone please tell me how to clear saved forms data? There has to be some way to do this but I don't see any options.

Unfortunately the trial is halted. I received too many hassle emails for not giving is free, and I treat them as customer and replied every single email. That's a huge burden (spent whole morning just replying people's emails).
It is 2 AM here and I am still replying emails now.
That's really too bad. I go back to the program title/description. I think if that was done a little clearer from the start, you might have avoided some of this.

On the other hand, maybe this is just a flat out vote for disabled features in a free version over a watermark.

I currently use xScope as a 2nd browser for a few particular tasks and the watermark was fine for that. Unfortunately, looks like I'll be losing it then.

I've been using it as a primary browser now for the last two days (give or take). I enjoy the lay out, the back/forward buttons along with other numerious features. I'm glad to see you in the forum's discussing the app and providing us with updates; however I would like to see the text reflow addressed and copy and paste added..

I don't know if I speak for most of you, heck maybe none of you, but I personally didn't buy the Epic 4G because of the BS version of copy and paste it has. I really enjoy how HTC's version with the handle bars makes copying and pasting a breeze and I'd like to see that added to Xscope if possible

Unfortunately the trial is halted.

Ahh, that explains it. I had an issue with my phone yesterday and Verizon did a factory reset. Then I couldn't find the trial app in the store anymore. I ended up buying the full version, but was really confused why the trial was missing.

Thanks for the great program. It is certainly worth the money....

Since version 5 my history has never saved. I have changed roms multiple times and at some points not even restore my Internet settings to see if xScope would then start saving.

I have the "remove cache after exit" unchecked and it still does not save. Quite annoying having to repeat each website all the time.

Currently running a Samsung Galaxy S.

Well, Xscope Browser has been my favorite so far after using stock, Dolphin, Skyfire, and Opera. I still have the old free version (sorry, I'm strapped for cash due to unforseeable events and just cant justify paying for apps at the moment). I'd noticed that the old paid version was available for free at xscope.net ...
I thought I could sneak my way into a free paid version and downloaded the file.

That's where I'm stuck. It says "Sorry, no aplication available," when I try to open it up. Was I supposed to move the file to the root of my sdcard type thing ? Is it possibly just a bad download? Do I have to uninstall the old xscope first? Did I just misunderstand what was posted???

After a week or so of using the browser, have to say it's been great ...

Wouldn't worry about the trials and stuff, just put your efforts towards the paid group, this thing cost a pittance of money and enhances the Android phone experience dramatically. If I'm not mistaken you have 24 or 48 hours to trial a purchase app anyways or uninstall and get a refund, don't you?

Looking forward to future updates ...

On xscope.net, the old paid version is zipped.
Unfortunately, as I tested, stock browser (no wonder its other forms with lipsticks) failed to download. Tried with xScope and no problem of downloading it. Then open with Astro and installed no problem.

People, xScope is NOT a a stock browser with pretty skins. We even write the downloading function from scratch. Love it or hate it. But it does allow you to download more otherwise not possible with stock.

Also I attached it here. It has to be Zip here due to the Forum limitation. It is the old version xScope 5, not the latest 6. to be clear.

By the way, your avatar is hilarious

I am going to make it easier

This is THE best browser hands down!!! Just bought it! I do have 1 thing to nitpick on though :D....Whenever i long press a link and it opens a new tab, it doesnt stay on the current page unfortunately :(. It just switches to the new tab but it used to stay on the current page while opening many links in new tabs on the older xscope. I really loved this feature so if you could change/tweak this or atleast add it as an option, I would be Really grateful! But other than that TOP NOTCH browser mate. Excellent work! :)

Suggestions:

- as said earlier, setting user agent by website

- it would be wonderful if text entry boxes would respond in the way that system text entry boxes respond. That is, for instance on the Droid X, I've got those little handlebars for highlighting and selecting text on most system text boxes. I know sense UI has similar things.

- a better copy and paste mechanism in webpages would be great but since there is no android function for it, I know you'd have to develop it from scratch which is probably pretty time consuming.

Sweet! Thanks!! Must've overlooked that. Now i have ZERO complaints :D

I don't have a complaint, more a request... I would really like to see...

+ copy and paste (with handles like sense on EVO)
+ text re-flow on pinch to zoom.
+ pinch to zoom leads to accidental links being pressed, please change/look into.

I do feel xscope is a quick browser; however it does hang at time. I believe you mentioned in an email to me that stability is 1st on your priority list, hope to see these issues addressed.
Lastly, with everything on your plate I'm sure this falls to last on your list of things to do, but the icon could use a face lift... :)

Thanks xscope.

Um, TW and Xscope are two completely different things.

TW is like Launcher Pro, Zeam Launcher, or ADW Launcher; it's the user interface.

Xscope is a web browser.
Now that we have cleared that up for this idiot, I like the positive comments on the xscope. What is so bad about the stock browser that one needs the xscope? I played with the SF (and will buy on 10/27) and web browsing seemed fine. Am I missing something?

First of all, please refrain from calling people idiots regardless of how they may come off. These forums are meant to inform not ridicule. Secondly, the stock browser is perfectly fine, but it's also very basic. 4 window limit and so on. Xscope on the other hand provides much more and is visually appealing to boot.
