what keyboards are u guys using?

@Dave Nguyen
Like EarlyMon said, we can't share the APK. Just remember that the Google Market policy still allows you 24hrs to return an app you don't like for a full refund. If you decide to try it, let us know what you think on this thread: http://androidforums.com/android-applications/236366-keypurr-feedback.html There we will answer any questions you have to make sure that you get the most out of Keypurr.

yeah... how do you evaluate a big app in 15 min? and it takes time to setup ...

so... in effect.. NO return policy...
so.. will it help devs.. if it reduce the number of users that will even try your shiiit??

OK - cleansing breath. This goes at Google's doorstep along with the game devs in particular.

Let's go back to keyboards.

Hate the stock keyboard, the placement of letters is totally messed up... especially the period key. I'm always hitting it in the middle of a word. Tried Swype, and it's pretty decent, but it's far from perfect IMO. I don't mind feeding it vocabulary, but it can be stubborn at times and I don't want to have to feed it constantly.

Just started using Smart Keyboard Pro, and it's everything that the stock keyboard should have been. Simple, calibrated well, buttons in the right place, predictive text works quickly and accurately. It's not gimmicky, and I like that. Swype has its merits, but I type MUCH faster with Smart Keyboard Pro.

If you guys like the stock keyboard, try out gimpsta.com. You have to register to use very simple. After registering you can customize a HTC_IME keyboard to your liking, it has different colors and themes to chose from, or you can create your own. You can do it from your phone.

I go back and forth from Swype to HTC_IME.

^^ swiftkey > stock android KB

New Swype is much more accurate than in the past from what I can tell.

I tired swift key and didn't like it - unistalled...

Use the apk file attached to the first post:

Gingerbread Keyboard Port + Extracted System From Sdk - xda-developers

Just a normal APK, no root required. Don't know why everyone else seems to think you need to flash something.

has to be rooted correct? i am not:(

see above - no root required for 2.3 keyboard

Old thread but I'll bite.

I'm a swype user too and I love it even if it gets completely lost sometimes and you have to manually correct 8 words out of 10 randomly. After recently coming from a phone with a much smaller keyboard, I find swype works a lot better for me if I use it in portrait mode. I felt like I was running a marathon using it landscape on the evo. My accuracy and speed are much better in portrait mode.

Yeah swype is pretty pointless for me as well. only seems useful in portrait mode, which is not very useful for me. the times I have tried to use swype it has actually just slowed me down.

stock android keyboard is just the right fit for me ;)

I bought SlideIt reading some recommendations here. It was ok, but after awhile, I couldn't get use to it. I like the long press of a key to type a symbol of the original stock keyboard. I was going to try Swipe, but I was hesitant about trying a beta. After using it on the EVO Stock update, I immediately removed SlideIt. I found Swype to be more accurate. Another thing I didn't like about SlideIt is if it suggests a word and I just want to erase the last few characters, SlideIt would erase the whole word. For example, if I use SlideIt and typed the word STRANGE, but SlideIt displayed the world STRONG, I would want to erase the ONG and type ANGE. But SlideIt would erase the whole world, so I would have to retype it again. Swype would allow me to allow the last few characters and then type the ones I needed. I also like the long press of a key to display a symbol.
