What phone is better?

Depends on what you're looking for. WP7 is more like iOS with a focus on the user experience over features. That's not to say it's lacking in features though. It offers the best sync with Outlook of any platform right now, as well as MS's Live and Zune services. If either of these are important to you, then WP7 deserves consideration.

But, if you do not or have no intention of using Live, Zune, or Outlook, then WP7 doesn't really offer much over iOS or Android.

Here's some comparisons asked and answered by someone else in your shoes - http://androidforums.com/android-lounge/239206-trying-pick-phone.html

Absolutely stress that Bnice is right - make sure you hold each one and trust your gut a little, too. It's a phone, you'll be carrying and using it, and nothing beats a hands-on experience to judge which is right for you.

This is top-line tech, there are tradeoffs despite specs, so either is an equivalently good choice - but all the tech in the world won't matter if you don't like it in your hand.

If you do that, play with the menus even a little bit, whether you know what the features are or not, and then if you still can't decide, then go with whatever advice pleases you.

I still prefer the Evo for its stronger case (weaker glass), better cpu (worse gpu), Froyo (flash content matters to me on websites), better gps, specifically because it doesn't have a physical keyboard and it has a kickstand.

That's me.

What you'll prefer is entirely your business, and it's all 4G Android goodness so you'll be making it your own (appearance, applications and so forth).

If one were clearly better than the other as a technical tour de force, fewer people would have this question - it's not you, they're both great.

Plenty of people have bought one and switched to the other and liked the other better.

Going for trilogy - put your mitts on them before deciding and don't ask for salesfloor advice unless you already know the rep is a low-pressure type.

Yesterday at 10 AM you said:

The evo's processor is starting to get old. Evo though it just came out this past summer technology advances really fast. A new 800MHz processor bets the evo's old 1GHz one any day. The thing that saddens me about the 800MHz processor is that 2011 is the year of duel-core phones. This is going to look like crap not compared to the evo but to the new duel-core phones. 800MHz right now can handle any thing you throw at it right now, but I'm worried about it as gaming and apps that require more speed start to advance that it just won't make the cut.

You seem to have more than a simple A/B phone confusion.

Let's keep your questions centered here for just a bit until we help you sort this all out.

How soon are you looking to make a decision?

If you like the HTC features on one hand and the external keyboard on the Epic, maybe the Shift coming on Jan 6 is the way to go - everyone's expecting that 800 MHz processor to be extremely over-clockable (but we won't _know_ that until they're released).

As Medion points out, if certain features are super-critical to you, maybe Win7 - if you want a phone to make your own - you want Android. And you can't beat Sprint's prices.

Are there things in particular you're wanting to do? No one will hate on your list of desires, promise.

I think I'm going to say good bye to android and get wp7. Im sorry but I'm 14 and the xbox live is just too good to pass up now that I look at it. The htc pro 7 is supposed to go to sprint early this year, and a 1GHz processor, 5mp camera capable of 720p video with flash and auto focus, a slide out keyboard, a screen you can tilt, and wp7's interface sounds good to me. I know wp7 is missing some features but i doubt they will be for long. Their app store is expanding 3x faster than androids did and they are going to verizon and sprint. Farewell android, I will miss you.
