Help Emails are blank???

Just got my EVO yesterday and when I get emails from one person they are all just blank, nothing what so ever in the body of the text. I didn't have the issues with my blackberry and was wondering if there was a setting or something I can do to be able to view the emails. She's using something called incredimail[FONT=&quot]. I don't have this problem with any other emails.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

I've had this problem from one guy in particular and we found the cause.

He was embedding his .vcf file (his contact info) into his email sig. The sig was being sent as a separate HTML mail object, the embedded file in the sig was forcing even more HTML fanciness (and this all succeeded reading his mail on any desktop) - but for whatever reason, the stock Evo Mail app does NOT like this.

Had him remove the embedded file from sig - problem solved.

There's not a signature in the emails (I assume that's what you mean by a .vcf). On the phone it's showing there is an attachment in the inbox, but when I open the email there isn't anything attached. On my laptop it doesn't how there is an attachment. Since my processor is the only one I'm having this issue with I'm hoping I can find a solution soon.

Thanks

OK, good - we're on the right track.

Something is happening in the way it's being packaged - similar to my situation - it sounds from your description that some part of the message is being seen as an attachment object, when it is not, and therefore it doesn't show as text or attachment.

First cousin to my symptoms, same illness - that's my good guess.

If you want:
- send yourself a test email, just a few lines - test1, test2
- confirm can read on desktop, not phone
- on your desktop email look for an option to view message source, you're liable to see a bunch of html codes
- post it here, with these caveats:

Go to advanced posting - near the upper right is a little tool with <> signs - it gives you a little area to past HTML into without mucking things up
- preview before posting, so you can be sure to erase your email info, you don't want that in public

If that part is hard, drop it into a PM for me - I'm staff, I can be trusted with email info (I'll hard-delete it).

Hopefully - I may be able to spot an option that can be invoked on the other (sending) end so this problem goes away for you.

It's quite rare, but happens.

Is this what you were asking for? This was an email she forwarded to me earlier today. I can't see anything, her comments or the comments from the original email that she forwarded. I can ready them fine on my laptop. I'll try to PM you a pic of the screens too.

Has there been any movement on this? My wife and I both have EVO's and she pointed the same situation out to me, It happens on both of our phones even though we can see the email just fine in AOL web mail. Using the standard email app on Froyo.
Unfortunately there is no option in AOL's web app to see any real details but I did just notice that both of the problem emails have originated from comcast.

Thanks in advance.
