7) A windows will pop up asking "Do you want to write to registry these settings now ? Answer "YES" in order to apply the registry update.
8) Search for an update in KIES and you will find 2.2.1 update ready for download.
9) Follow the update procedure from KIES

Did as per the message and wheni connected to kies is showed there is an update, but when i try to upgrade, i am getting the below 2 box, first on ebox come showing downloading from server....

but immediately another msg box come saying

No response from server. please check if your internet connection is activated and try again.

did anyone got this error while upgrading to 2.2.1 from 2.2

???????

try updating from KIES again ... maybe because of some network issues it might have failed ...

have installed jpy 2.2.1 through odin.

now i face one problem, the phone i snot syncing with google contacts.

anybody know how to make it sync the google contacts....

i need help guys i upgarded my friends phone to Froyo 2.2 everything is fine but when tries to download anything from the market it doesnt download tho he can see apps and browse net its only with market he cant download any thing can u guys suggets what could be the problem

I just got the Galaxy S a couple weeks ago and I love it. A question about the music player though - how do you change the order of tracks in the playlists? Whenever I create a playlist, the songs are always in alphabetical order! I know there's a "shuffle" option, but how do I play them in a particular order? Is there an app for that?

Guys i suggest to try out darkys gingerbread 8.1 version, its based on 2.2.1 JPY.

Thge phone works very smooth, fast and battery is also very good.
he has 3 version

wipe
no wipe
and no wipe slim ( i didnt tried yet)

its worth a try. to install his rom no need to use odin also.

I am happy with this rom, now i am eagerly waiting for actual 2.3 gingerbread ROM....

Awesome! I'll probably give it a try (with Speedmod kernel k12 Q).

But, right now, one issue I am facing is, I am not able to find the talk application..(stock google talk), possibly because I installed Slim Version (although had restored the missing apps)..

Any idea how to reenable/reinstall it? Tried downloading googletalkservice.apk, but it says not installed. Those with talk working and rooted, can you check whether the apk is found under /system/apps ? (Like the installation process required for installing swype required?)

Yeah, after switiching to v9, the issue is fixed. For now, I'll probably stay with v9 ,as it is working fine for me..(hate to do wipes..)

Any of you guys tried Airtel 3G in Bangalore? I subscribed for it and facing a few issues: I am able to browse the net using the browser, but none of the other app (Market, Maps,etc.) are able to use this connection. Note that these other apps used to work fine on Edge and still work fine on WiFi, but do not get a connection when I switch to 3G. Any body else seen this? Any solutions?
