Root Gb miui

Is this the English version? It looks like a lot of them are still the Chinese version.

:thinking:Did you click on either link?

The first link takes you to the miui rom download list for English. The second is the direct download from the first link. If you click on the second link, it will say ENG;)

Rom runs nice, nice to have GB with miui:D

I've been really resistant to trying out miui because I'm not an iphone fan but for some reason I tried the latest miui last night and holy chit it's nice. I did install launcherpro on it to ditch the ip interface and that is the ticket. It has the launcher I'm used to with the miui enhancements and it's 2.3!

I'll still play with it for a few days to make sure it's everything I think it is but for now it looks like it might be a daily driver. I just hope they get the 4g working soon as I just found the first unofficial 4g hotspot in my town last week.

For anyone hesitant to try it consider using a launcher you're familiar with to try it out. I wasn't too impressed with the stock miui launcher.

Did you read the whole OP? It mentions a fix for not being able to see text I think. Turning on compatibility mode but it doesn't work for all apps maybe that's what you meant...

Me...read directions. Yeah right. :p

I did turn on cmode fro apps with black tx and it fixed it. Fixing GPS. Took flashing a nandroud of a sense rom ....resetting it then flashing back.

I just tried my gps and it isn't working either. All I have to do is nandroid what I have, wipe and flash the last nandroid I had where it worked, reset and then nandroid back to miui?

I take it I don't wipe between the last two steps?

I love miui but I always seem to have a problem with the lock screen. i push the on button, and sometimes the lock screen wont come on, tho the screen turns on (its a grey screen) any one else having this problem?

Thats because of your kernel. For some reason the Savage-zen kernels do that to some lock screens. I dealt with it for a while, but it is a little irritating. Just try a different kernel. Make sure it is a different kernel all together, one that is not SavagedZen and it should work properly.

And I have to flash back to a sense rom first to use it correct?

Do I wipe before and after the sense nandroid and then restore the miui nandroid?
You dont have to wipe. Although i sometimes flash the Format All zip just to restore it on a clean slate.
It probably doesnt do a damn thing, but it takes 4 seconds so what the heck. Lol

I think you have to install BW or something else that has a digital clock to get that. The apps are now all over the desktop. :)

Install something like LPP to use while you get used to miui and 2.3.3 and then use miui launcher off and on until you get used to it. That's what I'm doing...

Btw, the GPS code above is wrong. It's actually ##gpsclrx# and you need your msl handy. I'm in the process of trying it out now. :)
