Help Version Update?

She had no explanation. She basically said "ok, so I've given you a new phone..." It was closing time at the store, and I had groceries with me, so didn't want to belabor the point. I assume that she was having problems getting the update to take on my old phone. Although I will say that now 4G works intermittently, but it does come on. With my old phone, I never showed a 4G connection the day after I left the store, so I suspect that something might have been wrong with the phone, and she realized it.

Fortunately, the corporate store is only about 15 minutes from my office, so it's not that hard to get there.

And still no update.

I have a trouble ticket on this issue (the lack of 4G), so maybe when they resolve the trouble ticket, it'll get pushed to the phone. :thinking:

Usually when a phone has an OTA update, the rep at the store should remove the battery. power it up after 1 minute and reprogram the the phone... then do the prl update. Even go as far as to refresh the account. even try reprogramming the phone wrong phone number and trying all over again. Thats how I got my forced update. I'm philadelphia which has 4g service. It worked for me so i guess some of you guys can try it. I know on the banter update that works 100%

I never got any update either down here, and I've already tried rebooting phone, removing battery, etc.

Going to the store today. Wish me luck. Still no update and to top it off my devie keyboard arrow keys,enter key, and OK key have just stopped working.

A factory reset will fix the keyboard issue. That has been a recurring problem with mine. Still waiting on my update too. Even switched back to 4g to please the update gods.

I just did a factory reset about two weeks ago due to that. No way Im just going to have to factory reset every 2 weeks. Whats the point of having custom settings then.

Haha...No one has a single clue why these phones have so many issues. The people at the store took my phone and swapped it for a new one. So I have a new phone up for sale / trade. Go check out my thread.

Im starting to feel bad for even the people at the stores, cause we started talking and he told me that, even they are left in the dark about all the problems with the phones and how to fix them.

One thing he did mention is that the updates are per phone number. And they are in no order. So like even if your buddy has and indulge and he gets the update and you dont. Thats just because his number was higher on the list.

Also I was told there is no way to do a force update. You will just get it once your phone number gets it.

I would take the phone back. I did with mine and the guy just did a swap. We shouldnt have to be doing factory resets every 2 to 3 weeks due to the device keyboard stopping.

Still no update here.
This morning I went to a corporate store to see if they could manually update it. The clerk said sure we do this every day. He took the phone and turned it off and on and said done. I laughed in his face and he admitted he does not know how to do it and that he had no clue what to do. LOL

The update is automatic.....and is per phone number not per area.
So if your on the top of the list then you will get it sooner then someones Phone number at the bottom of the list.

The people at the stores cant even download it for you.

To bad they can't give us a date when the update will be complete so we know. It's not going to be like a month from now. lol

Earlier when I restarted my phone, I got a strange message that said an update had failed and was not available. Could this have been the update?

So you're saying you don't even need to bother putting the phone into 1x mode anymore to save battery life now that you've gotten the update?

I went to the corp store, no they can't do the update...it's something they can't push. That's what they told me.
