Root How to Flash the Huawei Ascend to Stock

I cant get this to work on so many levels. I am about ready throw this phone against the wall. One of my biggest things is I keep getting a , "The process com.android.phone" keeps popping up which makes this even harder. I was able to limp into cricket upgradee and cemake sure my phone was still Z4 rooted and I have cwm installed so I can at least get a recovery screen. So I followed everything to the t....wipe data...wipe cache and then apply update sdcard. Reboot....and again this frickin cricket still appears, yes new fresh install...but I still get the process error plus I dont want this cricket on my phone. Please help me before I lose it.

Luke

Quick question do I copy the MetroPcs Z7 files onto the sd card or keep it on my computer?

tried it again failed to update it says on reboot...firmware update unpacking failed it keeps giving me that I have tried it again and again

reverting back to stock, ok power down the phone and download and extract this to your desktop MetroStockRecovery-SCRIPTS.zip after you done that press and hold vol down, end key and tap power, your phone should be on the white huawei screen and it should stay there, now open the folder that you extracted and run both of these file, first run fastboot-windows you will see a black box come and leave quick, next run metroPCSStock-windows.bat than another black box will pop up and it will do its thing, once it finishes the phone will automatic reboot itself.

Fastboot Method
(Note:This method will work even if the phone will not start or go into recovery)

Download the Following Package:

3)Enter Fastboot (End Call + Volume Down - while phone turns on)
4)Run script relevant to your OS

metroPCSStock-windows.bat
5) Your phone will automatically reboot

WARNING: Only the linux version has been tested. All other versions should work though. DO NOT power off the phone during the process.

Nandroid Method
(Note:Working custom recovery is needed for this method)

Download the Following Package:
MetroPCS Stock Nandroid Backup (Phone Right Out of Box)
663fab87380e87c8c158a2f5d0c4495e MetroPCSStock.7z

1) Place nandroid backup files into a directory on sdcard:
/nandroid/mem=211M/stock/

Im having an issue with a friends metroPCS Ascend...she gave it to me after it just stopped working one day, I tried to boot up and it got to the android and then the metroPCS screen and then just shut down, it did this like three times so I gave it a good 2 1/2 hours charge (funny though as its seems it wont charge right, I have yet to see the 'charging while off' icon?) anyway trying to get to fastboot doesnt work with the button combo in post #1, but then when I try end/VOLUME UP/power I get "update fail" screen and button lights flicker and then it powers right back off! ...Now I realize I am probably dealing with a charging issue along with this failed update problem. But I havent tried any updating yet ...unless she did...yet the phone almost booted normally three times! ( iI even saw the lockscreen once) I'm stumped! I can try a new battery but no way to get it serviced as its not my account/phone....even when powered off windows 7 pc and an xp laptop fail to recognize any connection whatsoever (weird as I have android SDK on the PC?) I have read where many have had charging issues after awhile with these phones so that is compounding the issue and my befuddlement. Any ideas?

I might have used what little charge it had and as of right now it wont even show the update fail screen??? (even with A/C power attached) ...can adb be used to push this thing into fastboot? i kinda doubt it as it has yet to be recognized by the pc...I will try to get a service center to let me try a charged battery tomorrow but any ideas you guys have would be appreciated. I am a Captivate owner and love to modify android os phones but starting to think I might find the Holy Grail before I recover this thing!

Hi Everyone,

I need some help, I was able to root the phone and I was able to remove some apps, specifically I wanted Motonav gone, and I was able to do it but then I got greedy and I think I removed too much and now I'm getting the following errors:

When I go into my contacts and click call log, i get the following error:

The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again [FORCE CLOSE]

I have wiped all data off the phone completely, after I setup my google account, I get the following error

The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
[FORCE CLOSE]

Unfortunately, being new, I did not create a backup, I'm wondering if there's anyway that I can put the full stock software with everything back on the phone? Is there anywhere I can load that?

Yeah im one cricket by the way.

Ok, let me start by saying in no way, shape or form am I submitting this as and "end all, be all" fix. I'm an amateur at rooting and rom installing, but I did figure out how to finally get my phone back to square one.

The problem I was having was the version on "Clockwork whatnot" on my phone did not allow for restoring from nand. So I looked at the restore options. It gave me a restore point from earlier when I started this fiasco.

So I took the files from "MetroPCSStock" and copied them into the Clockwork Backup directory. The folder was named with the date of my initial back up, so I kept it the same. Then I deleted the cache image and copied over the default files.

I'm back to good ole Metro setup, but I've never been happier to reclaim normalcy. Rooting and installing ROMs work for some, and I don't blame them, but my attempt at making a crappy phone better, ultimately made it crappier.

If anyone needs help with my suggestion, I'll do my best, just let me know.
